Rough seas in Mediterranean in April?

We're considering the Eurodam in the Meditterranean in April, but are worried about rough seas. Should we be concerned?

It really depends upon where you are in the Med. There are a couple of spots that can be a smidge rough - but overall, we have never found the Med itself rough.

We have sailed there in April, May, September & October and not noticed any big difference - but that's just our experience

What will the weather be in New Brunswick on April 14, 2014? We suspect you have no idea. And the answer to your question is similar in that nobody on earth can possibly predict Med sea conditions months (or even more then a few days) in advance. If you have an issue with rough seas you should always be concerned anytime you get on a ship. There is nobody who can give you guarantee about future sea conditions. Having done an awful lot of cruising in those water we can give you a generic statement....which is essentially worthless (like any other prediction). You have the best chance of calm Med seas in June - Aug...along with often hot weather. In April, things are a bit more unsettled and you might get fantastic weather with glassy seas. or lousy rainy windy weather with rough seas. Hope that helps :)

We took the Mediterranean Empires 12 day cruise (round trip Venice) back in May of 2011, and the entire cruise was smooth sailing. Hope you experience the same if you decide to book. As others have mentioned, you can never be guaranteed good weather/smooth seas, but I think the odds of smooth sailing are in your favor. We would not hesitate to book another Med cruise and hope to do just that in the next couple of years. Wishing you the best with your plans....
