nlktx49 Posted January 19, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 19, 2014 Just read a review of a cruise on the Triumph last week. In it, the reviewer stated that the MDR was not open for breakfast or lunch. Is this true? I hope not! Can anyone who has been on the Triumph recently tell me?
Rudyard Posted January 19, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 19, 2014 Just read a review of a cruise on the Triumph last week. In it, the reviewer stated that the MDR was not open for breakfast or lunch. Is this true? I hope not! Can anyone who has been on the Triumph recently tell me? It's on Sea days. They now do a brunch which runs from 8:30am-1:00pm (IIRC). cruisinmeme Posted January 20, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 20, 2014 Just got off elation and MDR was not open for lunch any day. Sea days 8:30-1:00 with a mixed menu of breakfast/lunch items. Port days open for breakfast. That is a good thing because we did buffet last morning and I couldn't eat that stuff.
silorchic Posted March 20, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 20, 2014 Just got off triumph today. MDR only open at 5:45 for dinner. Breakfast at buffet with long long lines. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sparky2 Posted March 20, 2014 #5 Share Posted March 20, 2014 Just got off triumph today. MDR only open at 5:45 for dinner. Breakfast at buffet with long long lines. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk That does not make sense. It should be open for breakfast every day. It is not open at lunch time on port days. However, on sea days there should be the "brunch" which starts around 8:30 or so and continues till about 1:00.

twinsaj Posted March 20, 2014 #7 Share Posted March 20, 2014 The MDR was open for breakfast until 9:30 and had a brunch on sea days till 1:00. We loved the brunch. It was never too crowded so it was easy to be seated. Lots of choices on the menu for brunch and breakfast. MicksMom Posted March 20, 2014 #8 Share Posted March 20, 2014 Wonder if it has changed? It was open on The Triumph for breakfast on port days & open for brunch on sea day in December. Only the aft dining room (can't remember the name right now) was open.
TheBubbs Posted March 20, 2014 #9 Share Posted March 20, 2014 (edited) I wonder if OP only went to the main center dining room? every cruise I have been on the one open is the one in the back.. love that filet mignon on sea days for brunch! S.S.Oceanlover Posted March 20, 2014 #10 Share Posted March 20, 2014 Must be another of CCL's cost cutting ideas. If people want to cruise for 7 days for $399 something has to give. Bill
cdamion Posted March 21, 2014 #11 Share Posted March 21, 2014 Oh, this might be a dealbreaker Carnival! I would not be happy to be stuck with buffet lines for breakfast and lunch! I guess I will find out in a couple weeks!
Pine Bluff Posted March 21, 2014 #12 Share Posted March 21, 2014 If I'm tipping for three service meals a day, and find they are no longer offering three meals a day, I will be forced to adjust my tips.
Fla Senior Posted March 21, 2014 #13 Share Posted March 21, 2014 MDR is open everyday for Breakfast and Brunch from 8 to 1 on Sea Days.
tncap Posted March 21, 2014 #14 Share Posted March 21, 2014 (edited) If I'm tipping for three service meals a day, and find they are no longer offering three meals a day, I will be forced to adjust my tips. You are tipping $5.80/day for dining services. I see no mention of three service meals a day. Edited March 21, 2014 by tncap
Mutumbojimbo Posted March 21, 2014 #15 Share Posted March 21, 2014 I know 4 cruises isn't a lot by CC standards, but in my experience there has always been an open dining room open for breakfast/brunch everyday and a dining room open for lunch/brunch on sea days. yoursurfer Posted March 21, 2014 #16 Share Posted March 21, 2014 Just on the Triumph last week. The MDR absolutely is open on Sea days for brunch and port days for regular breakfast. Never crowded as I don't think many folks could ever find the Paris dining room. 3rd deck aft.

Pine Bluff Posted March 21, 2014 #18 Share Posted March 21, 2014 Sheesh! That was me. The whole time, I never made it once to Tea. I couldn't find it! LOL! I haven't foind it one in almost 30 years of cruising. I was always happy having the hard ice cream with all the toppings at 3PM on sea days. I guess priorities!
