Hi All

DW and I are off on Spirit from Barcelona 1st March so have a couple of questions we hope you can help with.

One of our ports of call is Casablanca, how safe is it to DIY or would it be better to do an organized tour. Nothing grabs us as a must see so would probably just do a tour of the old town.

If we pre book speciality resturants are we right in thinking we would not have to pay the Spanish IVA tax but if we book onboard it will be added.

Thanks for any help

Ian & Julie

You shouldn't have to pay the Spanish Tax even if you book a restaurant onboard. As the cruise leaves the EU it doesn't have the problem that some Med cruises have with regard to tax.

I don't know about the safety in Casablanca, but I have heard that it isn't the nicest of cities to find your way around by yourself. We usually DIY, but I think we will probably do a tour there.
