Sounds great.

If doubling the size of the terminal does that mean an Oasis Class in the future as well

The Galveston cruise port cannot accommodate the Alure or Oasis. There is not enough room. As it is the Navigator and Magic have just enough room to turn around one at a time.

I have already posted the width of the channel which is 1200 ft. at its most narrow. The turning basin is much wider and can accommodate large ships.

Anything is possible but it appears Freedom class will, replace the Navigator.

Turning basins anywhere only accommodate one ship at a time to turn.

Comparison of Class Ships

....................... Overall

Class............. Length Ft*.... Draft Ft

Voyager.............. 1021......... 29

Quantum............ 1142......... 29

Freedom............. 1112......... 29

Oasis.................. 1181......... 31

Galveston Port Channel

“Narrowest” Width 1200

Minimum Depth 45

* not at waterline and relative to turn around

69 ft in length should not make a difference

between Freedom And Oasis Class Ships

Up the channel towards channel is a turning basin,

between the Ferry Landing and the Yacht Club,

where the ships turn around sometimes now.

There is ample width space there and depth also.

The photo of Carnival Magic turning around reflects that also.

And on right is a Drilling Rig Museum

and don't be deceived, there is a lot of room behind that you cannot see yet.

Also see a web site about Marinas Texas, that has an aerial view reflecting same of Galveston Channel.
