Boarding Time vs. Check-In Time

Going on Celebrity Constellation in two weeks out of Ft. Lauderdale. It says boarding time is 11:30. Does that mean the earliest you can board is at 11:30 or that you can start checking in at 11:30?

We want to be on very early as my friend is blind and will be using a service dog. We want to get on the ship ASAP so we can check out the "potty" area provided for the dog to make sure it will all work out before we sail.

What time would you recommend we arrive at the port?

Thanks.

You may be able to check in earlier or stand in line waitng to. Then it depends when the ship is cleared for when you can board. You may be directed to a waitng area.

Nothing is set in stone. If you don't want to wait get there after 12. It depends on where you would rather wait at the port or somewhere else.

I am on the Constellation currently. I arrived at the port earlier than I expected (10:30 AM). There was a line outside the terminal building because they were not letting anyone in yet. About 10:45 they started letting people into the building. There were two queues for the X-Ray machines. One was for Aquaclass, Suites & Zenith. The other was for everyone else. There were hundreds of people in the one line and virtually no one in the other. I think if you are in a wheelchair you completely bypass both queues. There was a third X-Ray machine with nothing but wheelchairs. Then there were lines to check in. Then there was a line to get your picture taken. They were letting people onto the ship as soon as they finished the entire check in process.

Bottom line I would recommend that you arrive at 11:00 or possibly later.

Did "elite" and " elite plus" use the "other" line?

I would hope they would be inquirer line.

Yes. This was the line for the X-Ray machines. There were MANY more lines for check in.
