Daytona 500 on Noordam?

Dear CC friends, DH is desperate to know whether or not the Daytona 500 will be broadcast onboard the February 17th sailing of the Noordam. The big race is on the 23rd. We're in Martinique that day.

Unlikely. Not impossible, but I wouldn't expect it.

Best I can say is maybe. Typically for events like this HAL will try but then again it has to be on a channel that they can, and have paid for, receive via satellite. They do pretty good with really large sporting events like yesterday's Super Bowl and the NCAA basketball March Madness but most other sports are limited to what is available on ESPN. The other factor is even if the race is on ESPN in the US it may not be available on the Caribbean available version of the ESPN channel as that is more focused on Central and South America sports like soccer. Like I said.....maybe.....but certainly not for sure.

HAL does concentrate more on soccer as mentioned.

It's whatever ESPN is showing for the area rather than HAL's free choice.

Thanks everyone. I had my doubts too. He'll be recording it so he can watch all the fun when we get back home.
