Shuttles charge per person and you may have to wait for them to fill up. As stated, cabs are plentiful. Taxis go where the money is, and there is always money to be made with cruise passengers. The distance between the two points is very short and it is a metered fare, not a flat rate. We have done this trip several times and it was always less than $15.00 on the meter (plus tip) for a cab for up to 4 people.

I'll join the taxi crowd. There are always lots of them lined up and ready to take passengers to the FLL airport. In fact, due to a little excess luggage on our last cruise on Independence, we asked for an SUV instead of a car and got one without any issue. We were at the airport within 10 minutes of closing the doors.
