Hello all. Just booked a Suite (9002) on the NCL Sun out of Tampa for April 2015. Suite is facing forward right under the bridge. It is one of the larger balconies too. :)

As you can see, I am a seasoned cruiser, but this is my first one with NCL.

This will also be our first line with a suite that offers butler service and more perks then I have ever had. ;)

Wanted a change from the other cruise lines I have traveled on and NCL had a GREAT price for a 7 Day Western Caribbean for 3 adults in a Suite....

Now to study up on ALL the offers on the Sun....

Good thing I have another cruise booked in 6 months or else I would be driving myself crazy on this one.......

I don't mean to be rude but, what is the purpose of this thread?

I'm sure you don't mean to be obtuse, but you ARE.

The purpose of this thread is, presumably that the OP just wanted to share his/her good news and to say "hello" to the members of this board, as opposed to already being familiar with the posters on the RCI, CCL and Disney boards.

What is wrong with that? nothing...

To the OP - welcome aboard. Happy to hear your news! And I LOVE your avatar by the way...LOL....

Hope you enjoy all the planning, and your upcoming cruise on the Sun. I have not sailed the SUN but from what I understand, terrific ship and crew.

I THOUGHT the purpose of CC was the useful exchange of information amongst cruisers. The OP neither asked for or offered any.

Well, you are in part, right, but also wrong. The other purpose of CC is to encourage cruisers to meet, greet and mingle. And now, you have earned the "ignore" feature. Bon Voyage.

All is good folks. The Islanders, to answer the question, I just wanted to say hello and chat with some NCL cruises. No advice, no questions...just to chat was all.

Ok, now back to your regular scheduled channel...:)

Allow me to reiterate.

I did not mean to be rude or "obtuse". I just did not understand the purpose of the thread.

Welcome to the NCL family and we hope you enjoy as much as we do.

Welcome, enjoy your cruise and suite. We love the Sun. She isn't glitzy, and is a little older, but what a fun ship she is.

Returning to regular channel.

To OP - don't let the comments get to you. Sometimes, some of us (yes, even me) get a bit too responsive.

Some of those folks that are often very helpful to others get a bit uptight after a handful of "stupid" posts and then someone innocent comes along and gets caught up in a bad mood.

Have a great cruise.

Welcome to NCL~ I'll offer you a bit of advice that I've read on these boards~ while in your cabin at night you will have to keep your balcony light off and your curtains closed while your cabin lights are on, due to being near the bridge~

Have an amazing time~

FireEater, kinda glad you posted. DW and I are trying to decide if we want to sail NCL for the 1st time, specifically on Getaway. Hope some of the comments are not indicative of NCL cruisers as a group. We are pretty easy going and laid back, and just as you like to chat and meet new people.

Welcome to CC. :)

We are taking our first NCL cruise, and in a penthouse, in just 48 days.

We also got a super deal and we booked 2 years ago.

As I understand it, (we are on the Star), suites are allowed free breakfast and lunch in Cagney's. To me, that's all good.

Enjoy.

Yes - that is one of the very nice perks of for suites on NCL. We just booked a few weeks ago on the Gem (balcony cabin), and tried upgrading to a suite, but all of the good ones are taken :(

(The only aft suite left is over the bowling alley... and as much as I love to bowl, I don't want to hear it in the middle of the night...LOL)

We have never cruised in a suite, and thought that it would be nice to try it on a 9 night cruise, but perhaps next time :)

You will have a great time on NCL!!!!

And now my heart is truly broken.

I just asked a simple question.

Looks like a newbie is just eager to build their thread counts.

Sorry to all who have seen this.

One could argue that with your own low post count, that might have been the intention of your useless reply.

Pretty sure the bowling alleys are not open in the middle of the night....

I checked, and they are open from 5:00PM to 1:00AM. At least that's what I found on one of the dailies.

I think the bowling alley is also in the Bliss Lounge, which is open until - whenever :)

I'd still prefer a suite that is over and under other cabins.

Heck - if I am going to pay double what I paid for my balcony cabin, I want as little distraction as possible during the few hours of sleep we get a night...LOL

That's true, and at least for our cruise in suite out of Barcelona on the Jade, it included lunch on embarkation day in Cagneys. What a great way to start a cruise! Breakfast in Cagneys is very good too.

Yes I read the same thing prior to booking. Makes no matter, I do not have cat eyes or night vision to be able to see the water at night through the glass anyways....:) Only time I would open the curtains is to get thru the balcony door.

I looked at booking the deck below (8) but I did not like the kids area below that deck (7). Unless they use that area for only nap time....LOL

I read a few posts where when you get escorted to the room to drop off stuff, they will then escort you to Cagneys for lunch.

I also heard they will be changing the use of Cagneys coming April 2015 or something like that....At least I think it was on this line that I read something about it....hmmmmmmmmm
