why can't I open my own wine pkg.

My wife called to order the wine pkg. Took 35 minutes waiting for a rep., but when she discussed delivery a supervisor informed her each bottle would have to be opened in the MDR and then could be taken to the cabin to finish consumption. We don't eat regularly in the MDR so why purchase a pkg. when you can only use it at their discretion . Her purpose was to be able to drink it on the balcony in the evening, but they would rather you lug it around the ship. Makes no sense!!

You can usually access the wine package at any restaurant or dining venue. Drink what you want and take the rest back to your room for later consumption. Also, take your 2 bottles of wine on board at embarkation so you at least have that in your room to use at your discretion.

It could be to make sure that you are satisfied and it gets your approval. I am sure that some may open it and being wine experts may not accept some bottles.
