moosenaroundtheship Posted February 26, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2014 Can't decide on E109 Or E409 Both have a big balcony. Neg thing with E109 is that it is under the observation area and heard the balconies get water from cleanning the windows and lack of privacy from crew above. E409 on side with bar under it. Wondering how much noise there will be. Thank you
CruiseWookiee Posted February 27, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 27, 2014 Both look good. I would pick 109 because 409 is right above the starboard promenade area where smoking is allowed. The balcony is bigger on 109, but the OV is probably due to the outside wall being steel instead of glass. I think the huge balcony will make up for that. snowmen Posted May 29, 2015 #3 Share Posted May 29, 2015 Has anyone experienced the smoke on E409 balcony? Anyone have pictures of the balcony?
Jersey42 Posted May 29, 2015 #4 Share Posted May 29, 2015 Has anyone experienced the smoke on E409 balcony? Anyone have pictures of the balcony? A smoking area is located all the way aft of the ship on Deck 7-exit the exterior doors by the Vista Lounge on the Starboard side only. There is no smoking permitted on the Port side at all. Crooners is mid-ship/port side and no smoking is permitted on the deck outside, as well as the sitting area outside of Facets on Starboard. We have booked E409 on an upcoming cruise based in part on this post from New York Nana. Several other posts indicated the smoking area was not underneath this cabin - only on the starboard aft portion of the Promenade deck.
Mom33 Posted May 29, 2015 #5 Share Posted May 29, 2015 Smoking is not allowed on either side of the mid ship promenade. The promenade area for smoking is at the aft promenade You will not experience any smoke below mid ship. This is from personal experience.
2pbears Posted May 29, 2015 #6 Share Posted May 29, 2015 I always avoid locations that are far forward on the ship because of motion. Therefore my choice would be E409.
StLouisCruisers Posted May 29, 2015 #7 Share Posted May 29, 2015 I was all the way forward in the past month on Aloha deck on the Royal for a transatlantic and a British Isles cruise. We always have midship but this time I didn't feel motion was any worse than my midship cabins. Sometimes there was some noise from wave noise hitting the hull, but it didn't bother us. In fact we were happy to be away from the crowds passing by our mid ship cabin as it was much quieter up front.
