Price Reduction

Sorry if asked before - but I cannot for some reason access the search function.

I have booked a cruise later in the year and paid a deposit with balance due August. Have noticed the current fare is less than I was quoted. Will I get the benefit of this reduction at final payment time or is it my bad luck for booking early.

I would not wait until final. If you booked yourself follow up with Princess now.

If through a TA then have them do it.

Certainly agree with that, and if there is a further reduction later you could get that as well, we did for our May cruise, but you need to ask for it.

No, you will not get the benefit of the reduction at final payment. They don't ever automagically give you a price break. You have to call Princess and get the reduction or, if you originally booked through a TA, then your TA has to call and get the price reduction.

I saved $660 off of my upcoming May cruise by catching a price reduction but I had to call my TA and have him rebook at the lower rate.

Do NOT mess around - do it as soon as you possibly can. The rate can easily go back up after only one or two days.

Anyone had any luck keeping the original OBC if you rebook to catch a price drop? Or do you always lose it? If you rebook to a higher category? Just wondering...

If it was a Princess OBC-FCC, Loyalty, Stockholder-you will keep it. If it was a perk from your travel agent, you may lose it as their commission will be lowered.

if you're from Newcastle Australia it depends on your booking agent as some aussie TA's wont pass on any savings, best to check the terms & conditions
