Using WiFi on Allure

Recommended Posts

Sailing on Allure on Sunday -- can't wait! First cruise in almost five years.

Am I understanding right that on Allure:

1. there's WiFi throughout the ship, including the cabins, and

2. you can buy "all you can eat" WiFi at $149 for the week?

If the answer to (2) is yes, can you log multiple devices onto and off the account, as long as you're not running two at once? How do you work that?

Thanks for any tips and cautionary tales that you can share.

Let me hasten to say that I don't plan to stare at my iPhone the whole trip. But if I can quickly figure out that no clients are desperately trying to reach me, the sooner I can jump back on the FlowRider!

Happy cruising to everyone.

Matt

Yes they have unlimited packages. Plus crown and anchor discounts. I used my Droid almost non stop posting my pictures every night. You can have multiple devices share, but only one can be on at a time.

Many thanks. How do you get your C&A discount? Do you need to enter your number when you log in, or do you go somewhere in person?

The unlimited package is $179.00 for one device. You can use it on multiple devices but not at the same time. Our C&A discount was automatically applied without going to Guest Services.

Trust, but verify. ;)

By the way, what is the level of the C&A discount? I think I've been on 5 RC cruises so far.

You are probably Gold, then, unless you stayed in JS or above.

Not sure.............10%???

I hope that a Gold member will chime in. :)

I think we're Platinum, actually. (I sense some inflation in the use of precious metals here.)

Just off the Allure (Feb 9 sailing) and bought the unlimited WiFi-package. Just be aware that it's VERY slow. "Quickly" check your e-mails? Forget it :D. I was actually very surprised that it was that slow. The week before we were on Oasis and it was just fine there...
