Wonder if carnival will do kids free too?

We love carnival! Price is right and while they are not perfect they have worked for us! I could not resist booking our next cruise on ncl to Bermuda with the 3 and 4 free it was cheaper than my recent cruise on the pride! I hate freestyle dining but to save that much how can I resist? With rcl and ncl with these promos I am surprised they haven't yet!

I don't believe I have ever seen a kids sail free promo from CCL. Unfortunately the current kids sail free promo on NCL and RCCL doesn't work with my schedule, as I see some pretty incredible deals.

AMEN!!! It's hard enough trying to book weeks when you can count on low numbers of kids already.

Agreed , while I love kids , I have 3 grown sons , I never took them on a cruise , we as a family took trips to Disney and other amusement parks and such .

The wife and I waited till they were older for the two of us to be able to enjoy cruises . We plan on paying for all of them next year once my oldest graduates college , as a gift for him , but they are no longer children .

I understand alot of parents want to take their kids on cruises , no problem , I can do without the running at all hours , the pushing of every elevator button and the crying at times , but then again alot of adults are seen doing the latter quite often .

Carnival is not the only cruise line with this deceptive practice. The current Kids Sail "Free" promotion on Royal is not as good as some people think it is. We are currently booked on the Enchantment of the Seas this summer, and we booked at a rate of $499pp for the 1st and 2nd passenger. On the day that the promotion started, the rate for the same exact category jumped to $707pp . So yes, Kids do sail free, but the 1st and 2nd passengers are paying considerably more. The grand difference in price was a total of less than $80 for the cabin. Still a bit of a saving, but not the amazing deal that they are advertising.

If you have screen shots you have a pretty good cause for anti competition suite and probably free cruises for life as a settlement (as it is against the law to do this) never mind -- its unethical in the USA, but not against the law -- the USA needs better consumer protection)

For our upcoming cruise -- Passenger 1 and 2 are $900 each -- our three kids are $150 each. pretty close to free as far as i am concerned :)

I was just on the Enchantment in December. It wasn't my favorite cruise ever, but it wasn't bad. The solarium was my favorite place on this ship. Beautiful, and always nice and quiet. The pool water in there was always nice and warm too. Have fun!! Just curious, what ports are you sailing?

I have also seen the same exact thing......you think you are getting a great deal on a particular cruise with 3rd and 4th passengers free but 1st and 2nd passengers cost more (than a typical sailing on that ship) so the savings on that week (while there might be some savings) is certainly not as great as it appears. You really need to shop around and cost compare. Why would this be against the law?

I do wish Carnival would offer some discount for children, especially for kids under 2 who eat a fraction of what an adult eats, participate in no activities, yet cost exactly the same as an adult.

How is what you're describing any more unethical (or against the law) than any other sale Carnival, or any other cruise line for that matter, runs? We see it plenty of times - a cabin was $499pp last week, this week it's $699pp, next week it's $399pp. Prices for 3rd and 4th occupants fluctuate as well. Caveat emptor.

I'm sailing next month with a 10 year old... I always thought Carnival was kid friendly, but they way you guys talk here... yikes! HAHA

Depends on the behavior of said child, and more often said parents.

Kids get ramped up from time to time, no doubt; had two. Majority of parents today let their kids push the envelope until someone steps in. That person usually then gets an earful.

Major issues include, but are not limited to:

*Using the hot tub as a kiddie pool. No longer enforced on most ships.

*Jumping into the pools and bringing toys other than Water Wings. See above.

*Running full speed through the halls, unassisted. Lump this in with hitting all the elevator buttons.

*On the Breeze, because what passes for the Sports Bar is merged with the Casino, gamblers had their kids back and forth between the two.

Keep the kid behaved, makes for a fun time for all. Have a great cruise!

I agree. I always cruise when there are no major holidays or school breaks. Yes, there are always some children, and I've never had any issues, but I wouldn't care to cruise at those other times.

The Royal sale would have worked out for us pretty good both on Freedom and Explorer of the Seas. I had been looking at both of those sailings but it was more than we wanted to spend. I did a mock booking since the promotion started and it would have been the same price just about on EOS as my Sunshine cruise - and I would have saved money by not having to travel to Florida. Just like any other sale, sometimes you make out better, sometimes you don't. As for kids and cruising, the last time I witnessed anyone running down the hall it was an adult obviously drunk knocking on people's doors around 2am. Not a young adult either. So please. Kids hog the hot tubs no more than inconsiderate adults who plant themselves in them for hours baking like lobsters, which is why I usually don't bother trying to get in them. The only fellow cruiser that has ever been annoying and offensive to me are the ones who drink too much.

They make great pets. :p But seriously, if they're giving cabins away for free you'd think a "Kids Sail Free Promo" would do a better job of filling the ship, if that's their goal.

We just canceled a Carnival Magic cruise and booked RCCL Navigator of the Seas - 3rd person was free, so it saved us $549.00. Worth the $100 penalty on this current promo with the low deposit to cancel and switch cruise lines. And the price of a Grand Suite was a little less than on Carnival and we get tons of Suite perks on RCCL.

You will enjoy your cruise. I took 5 kids on a cruise in August. I never once got on an elevator with all the buttons pushed, never noticed kids running amuk. I did however notice a group of 40 somethings being really loud and rude. Your 10 yr old will have a blast.

They gave away alot of free cabins, why not try kids are free to fill their ships.

Probably because the kids can't buy alchohol, can't gamble in the casino, and generally don't care for spa treatments. In addition, having kids tag along will also reduce the amount of time the parents get to spend in bars, casinos and spa (at least for the responsible parents).
