Congratulations Pia, on 75 cruises - that is definitely a goal of ours which we are happily working on! My parents are sailing on this cruise with you, so I am so excited to have found you and your live posts. I'm glad the weather has been good - sorry Princess hasn't provided the best activities/entertainment. Soon you will be busy with activities in the ports. If you meet Lenore and Bob, tell them their family says hi! Enjoy!

Good morning Pia, and congratulations on 75 cruises. My husband and I will be on the Coral on it's next sailing. This will be our second time on the Coral and she is our favorite ship. I just had a quick question as I have read that the robes have shrunk down to be very small. Is this true, and should we just bring our own? I hate to waste luggage space, but do enjoy having my coffee in the morning out on the balcony.

Thank you for all your postings as I can't wait to go.

So happy you are enjoying, but then you always do. Let me know what Mike gets at the $10 sale, ;) you too for that matter.

Jackie, Pia is right, remember we had that pre-cruise get together and you couldn't make it? You will meet someday I am sure.

Enjoying the live, sorry about Motor City although I can't believe you went!

Enjoy the day :)

See you in Ft. Lauderdale on May 1st.

By the way am going shopping to my favorite store this morning armed with coupons. Are you wearing our shirt on this cruise?

I am responsible for making Pia a Winer. She does like her wine.

I'm Scott Wyler the comedian and I performed on the Coral Princess last cruise and this cruise. Although Pia didn't attend my shows I know that a lot of people read her blog. I just want to thank the passengers aboard the Coral Princess.

I'm traveling right now with my 90 year old father Harry. He doesn't get many opportunities to see me perform so this is special to me. I performed two nights last cruise on the Coral Princess and I performed the Welcome Aboard show and again last night on this cruise. The audiences were excellent all four nights that I performed and countless people complimented me in front of my dad. My father told me he has never been more proud of me. When I saw people who don't walk very well trying to run across the ship to see my show last night while the ship was rocking I was beyond touched.

I've been working on ships for 17 years and this past twelve days with my dad here are ones I'll remember my whole life. I truly love the passengers of Princess Cruise Line and particularly the passengers of the Coral Princess and Island Princess. They are some of the best people I've ever met. Thanks.

Thanks Scott for so many laughs over the years ! As frequent Cruisers, we enjoy all the amenities on board as well as the shows ! How awesome that your Father was able to see you perform--he must be extremely PROUD of his Son as well as spending time with you aboard. As they say, "Laughter is the best Medicine" and everyone needs a daily dose !

Hi. I hope we get a chance to meet. I was recently on the Coral for 11 days and I will be on April 28th for two weeks as the enrichment speaker. I have always wanted to do stand-up and would love to talk it over with you. I do love what I am doing and Princess has been very good to me. Have a great trip. Phil

Good Morning, as we begin another day at sea with lovely weather again anticipated in the 80 degree vicinity. And, we also begin a very boring day with little to do. Unless of course you want to indulge in all the spa “classes.” More later.

You know about the “best laid plans of mice and men?” Didn’t I tell you there was no way we would go to Motor

City? I lied. I was mistaken. We went. Why, you ask? Because we had lots of time to kill before the 9:00 PM comedy show. Motor City has changed. In the wrong direction. There is no direction. There is zero substance. Never was much; now less. Yeh, I know, my opinion. And then, decided not to shlep all the way back to Universe to see the other show. People were running in the hallways as if their lives depended on it, and we didn’t and couldn’t comfortably get thru the masses. Not with the wheelie walker that Mike is now temporarily using.

Now I’ll tell you about todays offerings. As mentioned, lots of spa stuff. Yep, they have to make a living. Here are some of the “seminars” you can attend.

1. Go Home Looking 10 years Younger

2. How to increase your Metabolism

3. Relieving Back Pain & Walking in Comfort

4. Reverse signs of Aging

5. Whiter, brighter smile in 30 minutes

6. Introduction to Acupuncture

Other events are the $10 3 hour only sale, a martini demo, a photography presentation on lighting techniques, a tanzanite event, several casino tournys and of course the art auction.

Of interest perhaps will be a port talk on the Panama Canal and a lecture; “Life of a Seaman Under Sail.”

I forgot to mention the the Crab Shack is being held on this cruise; I believe they intend to do it twice. It’s $20, but it’s a lunch, not a dinner. Several of our roll call people were interested, but then they decided they didn’t want all this food in the middle of the day. There’s really no reason they can’t do it in the closed side of HC as an evening alternative. Then again, perhaps they do have enough daytime interest to warrant this.

I also didn’t mention the Wake Show. Very, very boring. So far this new CD isn’t showing much personality. I did catch a question of the day a few minutes ago, but no clue as to the prize, Will find out tomorrow. Maybe. ;)

It’s going to be a yucky night entertainment wise as far as we’re concerned, since the main show is a female vocalist and trumpeter and MUTS has The Hobbit. Nothing in Universe, other than dancing as it also is in Wheelhouse and Explorer’s. But this doesn’t mean we’re not having a good time. We entertain ourselves and we have no problem chatting with other passengers.

Responses:

1. Jim and Larry: Keep fighting over me. I love it! :D As Jim mentioned, impossible timing for the Regal.

2. Jackie: we almost did meet. Remember the Florida M & G which you couldn’t attend in August of 2012?

3. Greyt Dog: What do you mean by activities director? Are you talking about the ACD? If so, his name is Chris Hycz.

4. Golf: Me, snarky? LOL. Don't mean to be. If you knew me you'd know it's meant as laughter not insults.

OK. Gym done; time to get the day moving. See ya.

Thanks Pia. You are correct. On RCCL they are activities directors and on Princess they are ACD. I am the enrichment speaker on the Apr 28th cruise from Ft. Lauderdale to LA and wondered who my bosses were going to be. I was on recently and they were Bret and Matias. This will be my first full transit and I am looking forward to it. Thanks again. Phil

I hope it is better than the prize on the CB recently. They gave a free play on the “Cash Vault” machine in the casino. Since this machine is considered a “game of skill” and not a “game of chance,” the machine was available 24 hours a day.

At this time the answer is no but things can change at any moment. I wish I was. I have done a lot of things in my life but none as much fun as being a cruise speaker. A couple weeks ago I was asked to speak at a maximum security prison. They wanted me to speak on equal rights/civil rights. I gave them a healthy dose of stand-up and it was a blast. I am sure they heard the laughter all over the prison yard. The warden was not amused as they are not supposed to have entertainment but the men were thrilled and so was I. Many thanked me and said in the hard times it would give them something to think about and smile about. I know they all probably deserve to be there but I still feel sorry for them. Phil

I'm betting that is the prize. That's what we got on our Coral Cruise in Late Feb. I think that's what it was called. One has to line up a rod to knock the cash down. And, nope, we didn't win.

Poof! There goes another day. Highlight for us was our morning trivia win. We have a team of 5; two of us, a Canadian couple (which is always good) and one guy from our roll call. I checked out the pop choir signup; same old songs. I asked again about changes, and staff member said they are working on it. Same thing is said on each cruise. Perhaps it will eventually change, but not yet.

Mike decided he’d like to attend the art auction, so he watched, and I sat in a corner and read my book. And then it was time for afternoon trivia. We lost.

Responses:

1. Barb: We were amazed when we met Silvio in the elevator and he addressed us by name. However do they do that? And today, met him again and he asked if I wanted chicken and broccoli at the Captain’s luncheon. That floored me.

2. Susan: Sorry to say there will be no port reports from us. Mike is recovering from an accident and a weird bacterial virus and we have cancelled everything previously scheduled. This cruise is “vegging” for us.

3. CruisingonQ: Funny you mentioned the robes. Because of being what they call a VIP (hahaha), they gave us the big robes. I had them replaced with the waffle robes; others are way too heavy. Yes, they have shrunk down to next to nothing. I am ok with it; not a big person. Mike OK too.

4. Gloria: no shirt this trip. I’m saving it for Africa.

5. Scott: If you get to read this, be assured we've seen your shows many times in the past. I assume you're getting off tomorrow in Aruba. Will see you again on another Princess cruise and will introduce myself.

Bye folks. Will return in the A.M.

Scott,

My husband and I were on the Coral 03/15-03/26. Absolutely LOVED the two shows of yours. I laughed so hard I snorted..not a pretty picture. I clapped until my palms hurt. I do not expect great entertainment on a cruise ship and I don't cruise for the entertainment, yours was a welcome addition to a great cruise. Thanks, and please tell your Dad that although you may not be everyone's cup of tea (who is?), my husband and I, and everyone near us, laughed our butts off and were only sad that the shows weren't longer!

Pia,

Congrats on 75 cruises! Very happy that Princess is acknowledging you. Hope that you and Mike gets lots of well deserved R & R. We are just off the Princess and because of having a full suite, were pleased to have breakfast every morning in Sabatini's. It was the highlight of the cruise. Enjoy the rest of your cruise!

Have I mentioned the internet speed? Connection has been fast and loading has been just as fast. This is the best signal we’ve ever had on any ship. I imagine it’s because there aren’t too many passengers with freebie packages. I also notice every time I pass by that the internet area is almost completely empty. Anyhow……..

Good Morning, as we arrive into Aruba. It already feels hot and humid and the day has just started. We were here in January, so doubt much has changed since then. We might get off mid morning just to show Mike he didn’t miss anything at the gift shops in the terminal. :)

As is usual on a port day, there is nothing much happening on board. The movie Jack Reacher will be shown in the theater early afternoon, so I suppose that’s on our schedule for today. Or perhaps just lounging on deck in the covered area.

All aboard is not until 6:30 and evening entertainment is Alexander the Great (this one is an illusionist). MUTS tonight just has some old stuff: Cold Play concert and Beyonce concert. Universe is dark tonight and Explorer’s will have Princess Pyramid at 9:00. 9:15 begins the Ultimate Deck Party and Jack Reacher will be shown again in the theater at 10:00.

The gym has not been crowded and this morning there were only 4 people there when I arrived. Hope it stays that way. As for the Wake Show prize, they picked three names (not ours) and never said what was won. ????

Nothing more to say so will be back when there is something to say. Or, usually also when there's nothing to say. :D

We're enjoying your thread as always, especially this time since we are doing this itinerary later in the year for the first time. I watched the Aruba webcam this morning and find it interesting that you are actually docked with the Island in Aruba today. It probably doesn't happen too often that both sister ships are there at the same time. Enjoy your day!
