How exciting for you! To see the changes that they are making now. We have to wait until next year to see the changes and hope that you will get some pictures and tell us more about them.:) (Please and thank you)

Actually I have it on good source that the reason for the drydock is so that they can find the clotted cream that has beeen misplaced.

Good news: this morning a few barges transferred a lot of white creamy stuff to QM2. So it seems that eventually they found all the missing clotted cream :D

Thank you for posting that picture Frank. I did wonder if the QM2 would pass by the QE whilst in Hamburg.

Yes, she has to pass QE on her way in and out.

High tides tonight will be 3.45pm and 4.10am. QM2 can only pass St Pauli on the highest point of the tide. Minimum tide has to be 3.5m above NN - that gives a time gap of 20min before and after this point. If not met she has to stay for another 12hrs.

I have just seen this on the Cunard site under their Frequently Asked Questions.

Yes, we are pleased to announce that Queen Elizabeth will offer single staterooms after recently undertaking a dry-dock period.

They will be available to book from Wednesday 4 June 2014 for cruises departing from 16 December 2014, voyage Q422.

The new stateroms are located midships on deck 2 and offer a central location close to many of the most popular public rooms on Queen Elizabeth - including the Royal Court Theatre and Queens Room. There is a choice of Ocean View and an Inside room with the Ocean View rooms offering especially large windows. All offer spacious accommodation for the single traveller and come with oversize single beds.

Cabin numbers:

Ocean View Stateroom (KC grade):

2002

2004

2006

2008

2010

2014

2016

2018

Inside Stateroom (LC grade):

2012

I don't understand why the single cabins would not be available to book until cruises departing from December and beyond? I thought these cabins were added during this most recent dry-dock were they not?

Totally agree, Ernie. They have been added during this drydock so it seems like a huge waste of income for 6 months. It can't take that long to furnish a stateroom that is already built. Hope they'll have some photos online soon.

Cunard has released a photo and diagram of the new single cabin, but the deck plan is not updated yet. The large window is great and of course all cabins received the new larger flat panel TV's. I still don't understand why they are not available to reserve until December cruises?

I can only imagine the casino is quite tiny now, and no doubt the bar was also removed from the space. I guess not a big deal on QE as I rarely saw many people in the casino during my sailings.

We got an e-mail from Cunard with the picture and diagram of the new rooms. The windows are quite large and the big TV is on a cabinet and not on the desk area. Big bed. You can book now but they won't be in use until December 16.

At 120 cm, the bed comes in between an American/British single and double bed. Odd size.

So far there is nothing on Cunard's website to show what the cost for these rooms will be.

I still cannot picture how they put all these staterooms in the space of the casino and still have any casino left. Can't wait to see some photos.

I, too, find it very strange that they are not selling these until December.
