Okay seasoned CC members, I just booked my first ever B2B on the Carnival Splendor.

I will have different cabins and I have a couple of questions;

1. Will I have to get off the ship in NY after the first leg of the voyage?

2. Can I bring 2 bottles of wine aboard instead of 1 for the B2B?

3. If I buy booze for family members on first sailing can I give them their presents after the first leg, then buy more on the final leg of my trip?

I think that's it for now.... Please, fire away!! :D

1. Yes, but just to do a customs check, then oyu get right back on with a new sail and sign card.

2. Yes

3. Yes, booze purchased during 1st leg will be delivered to your cabin in the last night of the first leg, making it available to enjoy durig your second leg.

I've done two b2bs now and I've been told it's best to buy booze the last night of the first cruise--that way you can take it directly back to the cabin. Sometimes they'll flag you as a b2b and hold the booze until the end of your second leg. We got Jack Daniels for my brother last year and everything worked fine.

Make sure that you buy your alcohol the last night of the first cruise after 7pm. We went last time at 7pm and purchased our liquor and the guy told us to come back after 7:30pm and pick it up. Worked out great.

Make sure and tell your room steward that you are on a b2b and will be switching cabins. Then I always find the room steward we have for the second half and inform him we will be switching rooms. I then ask him/her what they would like for us to do. Always received the same answer, pack your clothes, leave clothes that are on hangars in the closet, and they will take care of the move for you.

Have never sailed out of NY but out of Miami they allow you to take 2 bottles each but you will need to have a copy of both boarding passes to show you are on a b2b.

go to guest service and tell them you are on a B2B . You will also receive a letter in your first room with instructions, where to meet at the end of the first cruise,,, as guest services will escort you through customs, then back up to guest check in counter to get new S&S card and then you have the option to go back on board or go shopping or touring around . We brought wine on board on first leg for both cruises but i ran out after first cruise and brought back more .. nothing was said ..

If you do choose to go shopping after first cruise, go in the Vip line and just show them you sail sign card and that you are on a B2B. you will still have to go throught security but you can walk back on the ship after that. ( you will not have wait for a zone to be called to board.

You've got to be on your game during your intransit day; don't count on two separate room stewards to handle it. On our last B2B we had separate cabins, just like you. I made sure to call carnival a few times before we left to remind them, to tell the lady at check in, and then to drop by guest services a few times during the cruise. Despite this we never got "the letter." I also told my current and future cabin stewards. We ended up packing everything up and grabbing a trolley to move it all. Bring your own hangers (I pack all my hanging stuff on hangers anyway). After we rolled it all down the hall and up a flight we got paged. When we went down to the embarkation area we realized they still didn't know we were on a B2B and thought we were just dawdling getting off the ship! Meanwhile the group of B2B'ers were sitting calmly waiting. So we were all left there and then eventually guided off the ship. When we were almost to the bottom of the gangways a security guy said "what are you doing? Why are you getting off the ship?" so we all turned around. We got back on deck and sort of milled around for a while until ship staff came out and started freaking out on their walkie talkies. Surprise! 12 people are standing here. Someone eventually came out with our new S&S cards and we officially boarded. That was on the Glory in Boston, July 2013.

This time around we are doing the same thing on Fantasy (what happens is that my son and I cruise for a week and then my husband joins us). I'll do the same thing and hopefully will get the letter. Adding the passenger makes it a separate booking so it confuses things, if that makes any sense.

Good luck! It's still a complete joy to sail a B2B and these issues were more comedy than anything else. The only scary moment was leaving all of our stuff outside the new cabin and worrying that while we were handling things someone would think it should be taken off the ship. Can you imagine...?

I have done 4 B2Bs and 2 B2B2Bs... Thus far all above are correct.

When you identify as a B2B - one of the ship's staff will escort you through customs (without luggage, just passport and declaration form) and back up to the pursers desk where your new card will be printed.

As for the booze, it depends on the ship but as others have said, just wait until after 7:30pm on the last night and take it back to your cabin with you.

B2Bs are ALWAYS the first aboard (even before weddings) for the sequential cruise...

On Freedom in 2013, we did not get any of the booze we purchased in the first week. They knew we were doing B2B and held it till the end of the 2nd week. Our cabin steward had no choice.

Hence the reason you wait until the last night to buy the liquor. The attendants there do not have knowledge of B2Bers.
