Sleeping in a lounger?

There's nothing keeping you from doing it, I suppose. I don't think I would. Also I know they stack up quite a lot of the lounge chairs during the night, so it might also be hard to find a place where you can be left alone all night.

I suppose it might be nice under the right circumstances - light breeze, perfect temp, no chance of rain.

Most loungers are stacked and stowed for the night after any on deck event is over. Some of the more "fixed" furniture on the Serenity Deck, can be used. However, the ship usually picks up speed during the night and the relative wind and the sea moisture would NOT make for comfortable sleeping.

After some Long Island Ice teas and some Cosmos I curled up on the Serenity Deck sleeping and listening to the ocean.

I woke up a while later to a beautiful ocean. If Hubby wanted to stay I would have slept there all night...under the stars.

As I need natural light wherever I sleep so if I was ever in an inside room I would definitely consider it.

I did it on our first cruise 16 years ago. We had an inside cabin, and my husband would wake me up snoring about 2:00am. I would take my book and go up on deck, read for a litte while, and fall back asleep. I usually woke up when they were hosing down the decks.

There were a couple of lounge sleepers on the Conquest a few weeks ago...they looked pretty cozy with blankets stacked on top of them. I'd imagine they woke up shortly after I passed through as we got a really good rain shower.

I read somewhere in a post that some people in interior rooms will sleep on deck in loungers. Do people really do that? Seems weird to me.

Never seen it on any of my cruises but guess it is doable.

However, not for me. At my age, if I slept on a deck lounger overnight, I wouldn't be able to move, let alone walk the next day. LOL

I've heard of people doing other things on the upper decks at night, so I suppose sleeping in a lounger wouldn't be too uncommon. ;-)

I had dreams of doing that when I started cruising, but to my horror, they stacked all the loungers up at night and tied them.

Friends (pair of sisters and their husbands) book interior quads... one night of the cruise each couple 'gets the room' until 3am, and the other couple 'finds someplace else to be'.

They also alternate the big bed and the bunks. My friend laughed "Yeah, on a 7 night cruise we get one night in the big bed, one in the bunks, one alone in the room and one on the deck. We have silly contests for the other 3 nights -- like biggest casino winner, trivia winner or most SOAS. We just roll with it!"

I've never intentionally set out to spend the night out on the deck but will admit to falling asleep after a big night out and sleeping a portion of the night. No harm done though. Go for it if you desire.

I've slept there twice, on purpose. Smell in room was bad both times. Once I fall asleep, I'm out, hear nothing. Only wake up when I get hungry.

Wow. . I bring air fresher with me. It was one of the tips I read on here. but I never had to use it.

I think I would still have a formal complaint if the room smelled that bad.

But I did sleep in a lounger on my January cruise because I didn't want to join the other seasick people. Especially since my cabin was forward.

That's so weird...why don't they each get their own cabin, instead of "sharing" the beds....yuck

After a long hot day at port, chilling in the pool and jacuzzi on the ship, and a couple of drinks I ended up falling asleep for a couple of hours while we sailed away. It had cooled off by that time and the breeze felt great! I felt bad for my BF because he stayed awake to make sure no one messed with my stuff. Best nap I ever had though! I plan on a repeat experience but this time I'll leave my bag in my room. August can't come soon enough!

While I did not sleep out there all night...I did crawl into one of those comfy round loungers on serenity at night and was there for awhile..it was a calm night (slight wind but not too much on the side) and gorgeous under the stars. I swear I could have stayed there all night, but DH was back at the cabin waiting for me. In 6 days I will be on Breeze and contemplate going back in one of those loungers and doing the same...but this time with DH!

On the Splendor cruise my Mom had our room attendant make up her lounge each evening....on our Aft Extended deck. He even brought her those mattress crate toppers to make it extra comfy. I have the a.c. On all night, and she wanted natural air. :):)
