Kcjarvis Posted April 28, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 28, 2014 Hello CC – It’s Ken and Paulette. We are late 30’s early 40’s Diamond Plus cruisers from NYC. We had originally booked a 5 day on Explorer, but decided rough Atlantic Ocean seas and cold water in Bermuda didn’t sound like fun, so we transferred the booking to LOS. Before this sailing Liberty was our favorite ship. Sailing Itinerary We took the 9:00 am Jetblue out of JFK. There was a HUGE TSA line but we expected it so we arrived at the 7:30am. The flight was uneventful minus the typical screaming baby. Surprisingly, our luggage was waiting on the belt for us. We grabbed a $15 taxi and headed to the port. 1st sighting Terminal 25 had 2 lines - 1 long regular line and 1 short Pinnacle / Suites line. We jumped on the short line. 10 mins later including the radiance class background picture and we were on board.

Kcjarvis Posted April 29, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted April 29, 2014 We hit the windjammer - No honey strung chicken - SCREAM!!!!! :-) Then the muster drill and headed for the bow for sail away. Good bye Pilot, Good bye Port Everglades About 25 mins out of the harbor, we bumped into an old friend - Hello Majesty!!!!!
Kcjarvis Posted April 29, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted April 29, 2014 After sail away we grabbed a couple of drinks with LIME and went to check out the flowrider. We felt sorry for the young girl that lost her bathing suit bottoms and cried. We then headed to RCCL Online to sign up for an internet package. No need to swipe your card in the internet cafe anymore. You can sign up from your cabin. We checked in with Carlos the concierge to verify our Labadee cabana and headed to the Diamond Lounge to say hello to Oana, the Diamond Concierge. We were very surprised to see Gustavo Butcher was the concierge because Oana was on vacation. We had Mr Butcher on Splendour last year. He is from Panama and we have just returned from Paulette's family reunion in Panama so we spent time catching up. We then headed to the Welcome Aboard Show hosted by our cruise director Rich. Sorrentos pizza run then off to bed...

Sunkissed Mommy Posted April 29, 2014 #11 Share Posted April 29, 2014 Before this sailing Liberty was our favorite ship. Uh Oh! I'm curious as to what happened for you to say before this sailing. I love the Liberty, going on her a 3rd time in November.

Kcjarvis Posted April 29, 2014 Author #19 Share Posted April 29, 2014 We always enjoy local foods on our cruises. We walked 2 blocks out of the port gates to Nazz for breakfast. We felt very safe and only encounted pleasant non aggressive vendors. From there we walked back to the port and grabbed a $20 pp round trip shared van to Doctor's Cave Beach

Kcjarvis Posted April 29, 2014 Author #22 Share Posted April 29, 2014 The lifeguard also sells $3 Red Stripe beers. The jerk pork was amazing We were really shocked when we saw alot of cruisers leave their towels on the beach. Sorry guys but after seeing this, I think RCCL should go back to the towel sign out policy.
KGSB11 Posted April 29, 2014 #23 Share Posted April 29, 2014 Thank you for the review! I was also on this sailing. As far as the towel policy goes, I will agree with you 100%. There were several times that they were out of towels and I had to wait hours to get one -- seems many people do not return the towels properly.
