Celebrity Summit

We will be sailing on the Summit in August and it will be our 1st time on Celebrity but have been on Carnival and RC in the past. I am a "researcher" and like to find out all I can about the ship, ports, etc that I can before we cruise. Question: Is there any deck that is open in the very front for you to stand outside on the deck. (on Carnival they've been called "secret doors" just because hardly anyone ever went out there. We loved it and wondered if the Summit had a deck like that too and if so, which one.

And if anyone has any comments, suggestions, likes/dislikes about the Summit, all would be appreciated.

We've been to Bermuda before and loved it so we're excited to be going back.

Thanks!

If I remember correctly, there is a deck in the front on deck 11 or 12 with loungers. My husband and I left Quisine one night, and he took me towards the front of the ship (but we may have gone up one floor). There were a bunch of loungers up there and off to the starboard side there was a set of stairs (my proposed there :)).

I am not sure if this helps...but I am sure others will let me know if I am right or wrong:o.

NorthernOntario is correct. Outside of QSine is an area like that. Also on Deck 4 midship on either side you'll find some padded loungers. Right outside the casino on starboard side is where we sat a few times. (not far from casino bar). We used these alot on our latest Summit cruise - and never saw anyone else out there.

You'll love the Summit. We sailed in 2013 - loved it so much we put a group together in 2014. Came back from that and 4 days later we had so much fun we have booked another on Summit in 2015. I guess you could say this will be "our" ship - although I realize we have to share.

Feel free to ask other questions.

You will need to share, because it is also MY ship!! :D

Yes in the very front there is an open deck, deck 12 I guess... Above the Revelations Lounge.

You should like the size, food and service are also really good.

Although she is nearly 13 years old, she is in a very good shape!

Just enjoy!!!

There isn't any secret door equivalent. However, on the day we depart Bermuda, the captain often opens the bow for an hour as we sail the length of the island. The crowds depart after 10 minutes.

I've gone to Bermuda three times on Summit and will go again the week before you. Love the ship. Love the trip.

Thank you all for your comments and opinions. We really are sooo excited to try Celebrity and the Summit. On our other cruises, I always loved to find that "secret" area where you felt like you were the only ones there.

We'll be sailing on the Summit for the 2nd time in just 16 days....and we can't wait.

Our fist voyage last year to Bermuda was awesome, we splurged and booked a Royal Suite and it was worth every penny.

Just saw the Summit on portbermudawebcam.com, her summer Bermuda season has begun!!

We just booked 2weeks Cat 2B GTY and were assigned 2 obstructed veranda cabins: 8006 and 9008. What does an obstruction of these cabins mean? Does anyone have photos?

I looked through the sticky and there was no mention of either cabin.

We will be sailing on Summit in July for a group birthday celebration. It has been awhile since we sailed Celebrity and so looking forward to this trip. Have not been to Bermuda in years. Looking forward to touring the island and all it has to offer. I too am looking for any information on this ship as well as Bermuda. Caught a glimpse of the Summit 2 weeks ago when she was docked next to us in the islands. Don't want to rush time, but very anxious to board her.

We love the summit- This August will be our 4th time on her! While the Summit isn't the newest or largest Celebrity Ship- it has been renovated and is very comfortable. She has a wonderful adult pool area and all of the other venues are great. We love the Martini Bar and you should also try Qsine and the Normandie. The specialty coffee in cafe al Baccio is also very good.

Since we have been to Bermuda multiple times, we no longer go touring- they do have interesting Caves and nice to take a bus or boat around the island the first time . You also must go to Horseshoe Bay as the Beach is magnificant-pink sand. If you want to shop- take a Ferry to Hamilton- not St. Thomas, but nice to walk around. Also by the Pier where the ship docks, you have interesting things to see- a for, glass blowing factory, some shops and also a small beach that charges a fee for entry, chairs and an umbrella. It is nice because you can use the beach walk back to the ship for lunch- then go back to the beach. No pink sand at that beach. This August, I am researching a "hotel for the day" package so perhaps we will try this for a change.

The staff on that ship is typically very friendly and the service by all staff members wonderful.

Enjoy your cruise! Perhaps we will see you on board.
