Monarch523 Posted May 8, 2014 #1 Share Posted May 8, 2014 On my first cruise I bought at least $300 worth of turquoise jewelry. I couldn't wait to bring it home as it was a gift for my mom and I. Like a dumba** I had waaaayyyy to many drinks at the Captain's meet and greet and LEFT my jewelry in a bag on a table. I got home and later found my jewelry filled bag......IN MY PICTURES that I was apparently taking:mad: Anyone else ever left anything that was important to them on a cruise? Was it ever returned?....or still lost at sea:(
mousey Posted May 8, 2014 #2 Share Posted May 8, 2014 Nope, I've never lost or left anything on a cruise before and hope I never do. Sorry about the loss of your jewelry. That had to have been a real bummer.:(
beachbum53 Posted May 8, 2014 #3 Share Posted May 8, 2014 The only thing we ever left behind was our night light in the bathroom. It wasn't worth $300.00. Maybe more like $3.00? Certainly not worth worrying about, or filing a claim. I just hope the next guests appreciated having it.
Fitzget Posted May 8, 2014 #4 Share Posted May 8, 2014 I left a pair of nice pants behind once. Realized it when I got home, but never actually tried to get them back. Figured it was too much trouble.
mandysmom2 Posted May 8, 2014 #5 Share Posted May 8, 2014 I left my camera in my room. I contacted Carnival lost and found. Fortunately my cabin steward handed my camera in and Carnival sent it to me via Fed Ex.
Surrealistic Posted May 8, 2014 #6 Share Posted May 8, 2014 We left our chargers onboard. Tried to see if they could be returned with no success. Another trip we left a small camera bag behind. What can I say? We are forgetful.:o
Carnival_Brides Posted May 8, 2014 #7 Share Posted May 8, 2014 We left three new (worn once) bathing suits in a dryer on the Glory. We called the day after the cruise and they've never turned up. We learned our lesson.
CrystalBeachGal Posted May 8, 2014 #8 Share Posted May 8, 2014 Our 2 small kids left their Gameboys and three Christmas's worth of games in a drawer at a motel we stayed at once. Expensive lesson so now I always check every drawer, closet, bathroom and even look under the bed (I find some gross stuff from past guests that way) before vacating a room for good. dljones Posted May 8, 2014 #9 Share Posted May 8, 2014 We've been lucky so far. I did leave a favorite t-shirt at a London hotel once back in 1980. I actually tried to get it back... no luck there.
mrsdoc3 Posted May 8, 2014 #10 Share Posted May 8, 2014 I left my camera in my room. I contacted Carnival lost and found. Fortunately my cabin steward handed my camera in and Carnival sent it to me via Fed Ex. We left three new (worn once) bathing suits in a dryer on the Glory. We called the day after the cruise and they've never turned up. We learned our lesson. Left some jewelry on Carnival once and they returned it to me FedEx. My daughter left a brand new bathing suit (bought especially for the cruise) on Celebrity. It was not returned. Fortunately, it was bought at Target, so not a $100 bathing suit! Yellow Fish Posted May 8, 2014 #11 Share Posted May 8, 2014 I left my camera in its bag on a ship November 2010. I left it in a bar. An employee turned it in to lost and found. I did not miss it during the cruise as I had another camera and did not realize it was lost. I contacted CCL after the cruise and described it. They had it. A $25 Fed Ex payment I gladly made for the return of my camera. The gentleman suggested that the first pic taken should always be your cabin door number. If I had done that, they would have contacted me during the cruise to return it. Another time I left a pair of sandals. Oh well. Not worth retrieving. I have also left a night light. My son left his expensive watch, money, wallet in the safe. Before we drove away, he realized it. It took nearly two hours for him to get it back and it was a real challenge. He didn't have ID so they had to take him at his word until they got the wallet out of the safe!
snc_cam Posted May 8, 2014 #12 Share Posted May 8, 2014 Someone else posted the same thing about the picture of the cabin #. Something to remember to do. Actually, I've tried leaving my wife on board but she followed me off... :D Ok, that's not true, I love her dearly and we both enjoy getting away from it all on the cruises, no contact with the outside world for 7 or 8 days. :) But I've actually left the car/house keys at my BIL's house flying home from California. My SIL raced back to the house and got the keys before we left... good thing I'm a "PITA" about being at the airport 2 hours early :)
jazm2011 Posted May 8, 2014 #13 Share Posted May 8, 2014 Yep, left a portable DVD player and 2 Blockbuster DVD's in one of the cabin nightstands. Never got the player back but the DVD's were sent back to Blockbuster. That was the 1st and LAST time we've ever put anything in the nightstand! momof3cruisers Posted May 8, 2014 #14 Share Posted May 8, 2014 Left our bag with some Rxs in it on the bathroom counter last month on Allure. Didn't show up in the ship's lost and found inventory that was sent to customer service. That rather sucked. We had just refilled them before we left on the trip. brymern Posted May 8, 2014 #16 Share Posted May 8, 2014 We left our 9 year old daughter's "blankie" that she had slept with every night since she was born. :( I think it hurt me more than her.
BattyL Posted May 8, 2014 #17 Share Posted May 8, 2014 (edited) Just this last cruise, my DH left several pair of shorts and a few shirts in the closet. I saw them in there and mentioned it to him. I should have taken them out and set them on the bed....He was busy re-strapping our luggage together. On one of the new bags the handle wouldn't pull out. The porters apparently threw the bag and bent the rails inside, so that you can't pull the handle out. Good thing we had several luggage straps to use so we could switch the bags around and pull them. didn't bother trying to get the clothes back.... tawaik Posted May 8, 2014 #19 Share Posted May 8, 2014 Yes!! I left my cell phone  Long story short...realized it upon trying to find it to call hubby while on the customs line. I informed Officer who was kind enough to get the Supervisor. I was escorted in to the room and watched people being arrested and luggage searches. Supervisor contacted CC floor rep. who returned my phone 45 minutes later. It was interesting watching people come and go. Was able to catch my flight on time and felt bad my friend was waiting for me. Next cruise, will triple check the cabin before I say goodbye to the ship:)
