Caribbean Princess B2B

We were booked on the Caribbean Princess 5/23 sailing and decided today to book the 5/19 sailing, as well. This will be our first B2B cruise. Unfortunately, we were unable to get the same stateroom for both legs. Does anybody know the process works, in regards to bringing the luggage from one room to another? Would our stateroom steward be able to transport it or would we have to?

 

Also, as the sailings are booked under two separate confirmation numbers and two separate staterooms, would we receive one complimentary Platinum internet package each, or two?

Two platinum internet packages.....that was the easier question.

 

As far a switching staterooms, turnaround day is the busiest, craziest day for all the stateroom stewards. You can expect a bit of assistance ahead of time - notify your steward that you are doing a b2b and will have to change cabins. Tell him what the new cabin will be. He can communicate with your new stateroom steward, or at least tell you who he will be so you can speak with him. Your steward can also make sure you have a garment rack so that your hanging items don't have to be put in a suitcase. Pack everything else up - remember you don't have to keep the TSA happy with liquids, etc.

 

Since you are asked to vacate your stateroom by 8 am, that means your new stateroom should be clear by about then. This is where coordination with the stewards come in - when can you put suitcases and hanging clothes in the new room, or will your cabin steward need to keep the suitcases in a holding area for a while?

 

You are going to have to go ashore with others doing the b2b, and while it can be a quick process, it can also take awhile, depending upon the level of cooperation from other passengers - our last one in Ft. Lauderdale took over an hour until the ship was zeroed out. You should be able to arrange with your steward to have access to your room safe in the old room after you complete that process....and be able to put it in your new room smoothly thereafter. Your new cabin steward, having been alerted to the situation, is likely to expedite preparation of the new cabin for you...so with any luck by the time you get through the ICE process with the other b2b cruisers you might be able to unpack and get settled in the new digs.

 

Have a great cruise, and, by the way, if you make passenger services aware that you are going to have to switch cabins on turn around day, they may be able to do something that will allow you to keep your old cabin - might - not a guarantee or even an expectation. But, turnaround day is hard enough on all the staff without having to deal with cabin transfers.

I'm in the same "boat", so to speak. :p

 

I'm on both the 5/19 and 5/23 sailings, and have two different cabin assignments. My sister, who is also my TA, said that in the Princess system, they link your two reservations, so if they can work it to get you in the same cabin for both sailings, they will....but as mentioned above, there's no guarantee of that.

 

Speaking of which....I see there are still bunches of suites available on both sailings. I'm perfectly happy to throw myself on that grenade and take one of those for both, if need be. :D

 

This is my first B2B sailing, and I'm looking forward to seeing the Transition process up close!

Verify with your TA or Princess that your two segments are tied together in the Princess computer system.

 

Otherwise the ship will not know you are a continuing passenger.

 

As a continuing passenger you will receive instructions a couple of days before turnaround day and new cruise cards the last evening of the first segment. Also, your onboard account should be able to be carried over to the second segment.

I am doing the 19th the 23rd and the 26th on the CB. have to change cabins on the 3rd leg. Hang everything you possibly can. your steward will bring a rolling rack and will take all your hanging clothes and you will find them hanging in your new room. I just pack undies, toiletries, jewelry etc. they will also take your packed bag to your new room. very easy. when everyone else gets their disembarkation instructions, lucky us...we will get instructions for a b2b. see you aboard.
