Grand Princess or Star Princess for Alaska?

Any recommendations on which ship is better for Alaska? Same itinerary two weeks apart. Thoughts or suggestions would be great! Thanks!!!

I love both. the grand no longer has skywalkers if you like to spend time up there looking out all of the windows.

The Grand has Alfredo's, but the Star doesn't.

I would choose the Star - it still has Skywalkers .Great viewing area. Last I knew the Grand Princess doesn't have rubber mats on the balconies.

Our mini-suite had rubber mats on the balcony in March.

That is great to know as the ship went a long time with out them. I would still choose the Star.

Star. I've been on both and much prefer the Star plus it has Skywalkers which the Grand doesn't. This is a great lounge with 180-degree views plus you can step outside for photo taking.

Star because of Skywalker's...although to me the cost is a bigger consideration than which Princess ship since both of them are doing the same itinerary.

Blue Matts...YES

 

The Grand was in dry dock prior to our December Holiday Cruise to Hawaii and all outside balconies had the blue matts added.

We've been on both Star and Grand within the past year and a half. If we had the choice, we'd probably also choose Star for the reasons mentioned above. Then again, we'd sail on Grand again in a heartbeat.

We have sailed on both ,would cruise on either of them but prefered the Star

I chose the Golden because it sails to Glacier Bay plus airfare to Seattle was way cheaper.

The Grand was our first Princess ship. We also sailed on the Star and will do her again next April.

 

As others mentioned, cost would play a factor in my decision if it is the same itin.:)

The Star's home port is San Francisco now. Can I pick up friends at the terminal on Friday, May 23? Or should I use the parking garage across the street and wait for a call? How much is parking? If I'm remembering correctly, the pick up area was easily accessible in Seattle.
