"i" or "y" Guarantee?

What's the difference between an "i" outside cabin guarantee and a "y" outside cabin guarantee?

They're both guarantees for oceanview (window) cabins, but the I category guarantee is likely to get only an I category room, while a Y category guarantee can get any of the oceanview (window) cabin categories.

Very interesting. What the RCCL rep told me was that the "y" guarantee can get any oceanview that is "I" or above. I was wondering if that was correct.

With an I gty you are more likely to get a cat I room, but you may get higher

With a Y gty you can get any ocean view room from cat I upwards.
