Live review Allure of the Seas May 25th Eastern Caribbean

Recommended Posts

One interesting tidbit from today was that they were refueling in St. Marteen of all places. I never would've thought that refueling on any Caribbean island was cheaper than Ft. Lauderdale with bigger refineries and more availability.

Enjoying your live trip report. Can't wait until Thanksgiving week for my trip on her! Thanks for taking time out of your vacation to take us all along. My daughter saw the cupcake pictures and yelled. Look at the puppies- now she wants to take the class too. :)

If anyone is a Mlife gold, platinum, or Noir member you get some pretty good benefits on board the ship such as a free specialty dinner, no seapass cash advance fee, free drink coupons, and a welcome gift. Here's what they sent up to our statement.

Thanks for this info. I called Mlife to set us up. Can't believe the dinner includes 150 Central Park! I forgot to ask them since both DH and I are Mlife platinum, are the perks per person or per stateroom?

What is Mlife gold, platinum, etc.? Is that something offered by RCCL? Thank you.

Mlife is the players club for MGM Resorts found in Vegas, Reno, etc. Depending on play, the tiers are gold, etc. RCCL is a preferred partner which gets you certain perks when sailing.

Benefits are for that person only but the dinner includes your family

Day 6 morning & afternoon

We got to the Solarium this morning around 9:30 and was able to find chairs nearby the little pool and stayed until the temperature was stifling hot with no breeze. We had lunch at Boardwalk dog house and my wife was able to get her cotton candy that subsequently melted from the heat. Next was the belly flop competition and the kid that won it did a 360 front flip landing flat with the water, it was definitely a sight to see. But here's some pics from today.

This was actually my second cupcake class but this one was fun. I would definitely sign up before you get on board because there were very limited spots when we signed up the first day on ship

we board her tomorrow! so excited! just out of curiosity has there been any mention of the norovirus this cruise? seen anyone sick? hows the weather? have a safe journey back home to Denver. It's been pretty rainy this week with the Poudre and Boulder creeks flooding again. Not again! hope you had a fantastic vacation!

I haven't heard or seen anything about the norovirus on this trip which is definitely great. I've definitely been more cognizant about washing my hands for 20 seconds because I went through the stomach flu earlier this year. The weather has been pretty good except for some clouds in St. Thomas.

I've been seeing the crazy weather reports in Denver and I'm glad I was able to go on our cruise at the right time!!

Have fun on the ship, you'll love her!!

Thanks for your review and photos, one question did you visit Rita's Cantina during your stay?

That's one of the restaurant's we didn't make it to on our trip. Our dinner mates did go and didn't like the food but they're also used to good Mexican food in California.

I'll be uploading the photos from yesterday probably sometime today from the Ft. Lauderdale Airport. Yesterday was rough and I haven't had a hangover that bad in a very long time. The good and bad of unlimited drink packages is you do have the possibility of drinking way too much.

We were a family of 7 with 4 cabins on the Allure three weeks ago, two out of four of us had our thermostats on lowest setting (balcony door closed/sealed and master switch never touched) and we found our cabin to get very warm during the middle of the night did you have this problem? If not what cabin were you in and what deck?

It was nice in our room, we were #7672 which was an ocean view balcony on the starboard side. It would get a little warm when we would close the room back and forth, but other than that it was pretty nice.

Day 7...hangover day

The new drink packages in my opinion are pretty great especially since you just sign for the drink and you've already paid for it. The downfall of an unlimited drink package is the possibility of drinking too much. We had cocktails with new friends that we made from our table in the MDR and most of us ended up having too many. Because of that I had a pretty terrible hangover on the last day and didn't feel right until dinner that evening. So on our last day on the ship I was pretty useless in taking pictures except for dinner.

Overall I thought the food in the MDR was pretty good and we only went to Windjammer once the entire cruise. We frequented Park Cafe in the morning especially since we usually only have yogurt and fruit in the morning which is the routine we were able to keep too. 150 Central Park is amazing and I'm glad we were able to eat their once on the cruise.

I thought service overall was pretty good and this was the first time we used pre-paid gratuities which was a little different for us. I really did love this ship and we were able to book a 6 day cruise on Indy in a GS on board. The price overall with cruise fare, gratuities, and insurance was less than what we paid for on Allure for this past week. I'm definitely excited to see what they can do with Oasis 3 when that comes out.
