You are super incredible for googling those pics for me, thank you!!!

HaHa, guys have it so easy sometimes. I used to be able to hold it forever like you, but the older I get, the less I can hold it, and something tells me that the frozen drinks at the beach will catch up with me!!

No problem. I'm always looking for things and googling pictures. Some times it takes a bunch of research, other times it's easy. There doesn't seem to be as many pictures out there since the "new remodel". I really should have explored more and went up that way. (Kicking myself for not doing it now). I am just so bad and finding something so enjoyable and totally forgetting to explore more. I get caught up in the awesome snorkeling and forget there's more to see. :o

We too have enjoyed Mullet Bay.

Have you all seen the normally calm Mullet Bay when a hurricane is nearby?

And Maho's sand seems to be constantly migrating. Occasionally this beach is all huge rocks. Very challenging getting in the water.

At least this is what it looks like when we travel.

Perhaps it's just the tides.

mitsugirly - This has to have been one of the most informative, and entertaining review (blog) I have ever read... got into it late - so obviously I've spent just a few hours (or should I say days) reading all of it!!

Well done, will look for more from you in the future.

Great wrap up.

Thanks again.

You rock. :)

Agree with you bear. What is so good about your post is that you realized that you didn't have to paste the entire 'wrap up' in order to get your message out. We all know what you meant. Too many people repost the entire message, or page of pics just to say... I agree, or nice pictures. When reading a thread this long it becomes quite annoying to have to scroll thru stuff you've already read just to see a simple comment on the post. Good on you (and others that understand).

Don't be silly - I guarantee you that I would rather see your snorkeling pictures than bathroom pictures!!! ;)

I honestly don't know if the 10-12 year olds can sign themselves in and out. Sakari has a few more years to go to hit that group and I'm not rushing things. :D Hopefully someone can chime in and answer that for you.

My son is 11 and he checked himself in and out of the club all week. They require the child stay a minimum of 2 hours before they check themselves out.

We have enjoyed all your reviews. You are better than Foders or Frommers.

Please let us know how the issue with the ring turns out. We have heard horror stories of people buying jewelry on the islands but this is on NCL. This is really bad for them since so many people are aware what happened to you. They better take care of you. We look forward to your next review.

Good point. mitsugirly, point them to this thread, that has 63K readers waiting to hear the outcome of your ring repair. :D

Thanks for the fantastic review and story...it reminded us so very much of our Breakaway trip.

Bermuda is a fantastic island, and I would do the smaller ship(we feel like you). We were very hesitant to do just one port, but we loved it!,.Make sure you go to the glass beach-only two bus stops away- and defiantly get the bus/ferry passes.

Thanks again....it was wonderful

Safe sailing

Thanks so much and you rock just for sticking with the entire review. ;)

Actually when I was researching Mullet Bay I found some videos that the waves were even higher than the video you posted and people were surfing. It was pretty cool to watch, but glad it wasn't like that the day we were there.

The first time we went to Maho, it was nothing but rocks too. I hated it and climbing them was a challenge. (It's actually what caused me to walk the concrete barrier by the road, which ended up causing me to fall and brake my hand). I was really glad not to see the rocks this time around...well at least where we were. :)

Thanks again for the info. Maybe someday we will meet up on a cruise. Our girls will get along great!

That would be awesome. You never know where I might show up. :p

So glad it has been informative and entertaining. :)

What I personally wish is that there was a way to "turn off" comments until an entire post is done. For instance all of the Mullet Bay post and pictures. Then turn it on for commenting afterwards. Wouldn't that be a cool feature? That was everything would go in order to just see the review portion and then you could see questions asked afterwards without interrupting the actual "story" between each one. I know, wishful thinking.

This made me LOL :p But you can guarantee that you will always be ask about the bathroom facilities...Are they clean? Do they have them? Was their toilet paper? Showers? Someone in there to sanitize when you left the stall? Well, you get the picture. So, I always try to include them. I'm not picking about my restroom...as long as it's private with a door, I can go just about anywhere. :p

63k? Really. I'll have to check that. Wow. I haven't even looked this time around. I'm a superstar I'll tell them. :p

I think you'll be happier on the Dawn than the Sun. The Sun, while nice, is very small and so 1980's. ;)

I'll be happier on both is a better answer. :p :D

Glass Beach? I don't think that was anything previously discussed in some of the Bermuda threads I was in during a planning stage. I'll have to look that one up.

"and we are cruising with the Ma'ams again. I wouldn't want to miss that at all."

And we wouldn't want her to either! ;)

:D Countdown....5 months, 1 day, 10 hours, 44 min, 39 seconds from now.

Great review, Kim, as always! I have loved every minute I've spent reading it. I am looking forward to the next one. Hopefully, with less problems than on this cruise you just finished. :D

I am a planner like you, so I really appreciate the planning you put into your cruises. There are quite a few places you've been and things you've done that are now on my "to do" list. It may take me a while to get it all done since my list is constantly growing, but isn't that what makes it fun?

I will be checking back to see how you make out with your ring. I sure hope they get it taken care of for you without any problems. It is a beautiful ring which I hope you will be able to enjoy for many years to come.

Aww, thanks so much for the compliment. Glad you had a great day at Mr Sanchos. Any suggestions for our next trip to Cozumel? I have been hitting them all. I'm not really sure where to go this next time around. I would really love to head to Passion Island, but I'm not sure if I'm up for the long trip.

The last time we went to Cozumel, I decided to skip the excursions and check out something land-based. I found this Chocolate Factory (KaoKao http://www.chocolateskaokao.com/DefaultEng.aspx) that is about a 15 minute walk inland from the San Miguel waterfront. It wasn't exciting, but cool and well-done. Small little place. Interactive with the guests. Spoke good English, too. We took a taxi from the pier there and then walked to San Miguel after.

On the way to the waterfront, we stopped at this little Luncheria that had pictures of the Little Mermaid painted on the walls, no real windows (just open-air), and DELICIOUS food!! Hardly any English spoken. Menu only in Mexican dollars, but they will figure out an American dollar price for you. It's across the street from the Burger King! Your kids will get a kick out of that! Oh - and if you go, try the carrot-orange juice (zanahoria-naranja juego)!! Completely homemade and cheap - like $1/bottle. We ordered the Daily Special sandwich and shared it. It had: 1 egg, lunchmeat (ham?), queso blanco (white, soft cheese), homemade mayo, mustard, some other semi-spicy sauce, pickled red onions, fresh-cut lettuce and tomato, fresh sliced and grilled ciabatta-like roll/bun, all cooked on the flat right in front of you!

Have a good time!

Sara;)

Loved your review! Just got done with it today as I got a late start as we just got back from Alaska and had to go back to work and had a funeral to go to. My mom never told us till we got back she didn't want to mess up our trip.

We are on the November trip with you and it will be the first time going with the Kids and grandkids. I am a little worried about this. I am also not sure there will be enough stuff for the grandkids. Me no problem it was the only ship that the kids could all get on because of timing and the special they were having.

Loved the picture of the Seward ship, as the kids were growing up we went on that at least three times it was my favorite at the time. If you find any good info on the Sun hope you share it on our roll call.

Ps. Your trip had all my fears happen in one trip! Glad to see that you can still survive and have a good trip.

Thanks so much for joining me on this journey. I really do hope for a better experience next time around, but at least I know I'll be on time and won't feel rushed. :D

My to-do list keeps growing as well. Whew...there's just not enough days in the year for me at this point. :p

I will keep everyone posted about the ring.

Sounds like a neat day. I usually don't do the excursions either unless it benefits me in some way (like tendering or only being able to get there by excursion).

However, I like to have a plan and go somewhere for the day. I really don't care for walking along to different place or stopping in the little shops. I want a beach, possible snorkeling, good food and relaxation. Ahhhh....I can't wait.

Mitsugirly,

We have a lot in common - I have a 25 year old and a 9 year old. Our little one keeps us hopping and the older is giving us gray hair. We are embarking on the Sunshine in 2 weeks with the girls in an adjoing cabin - should be an adventure. Our older daughter hasn't traveled with us in 2 years.

Last time, I did all the last night packing for both girls. Husband sat the luggage outside the cabins. I admit - I'm a "control freak" - and wanted to get everything packed "my way". I was almost murdered the next morning when DD25 discovered I forgot to let shoes out for her to wear off the ship. My husband is a prankster and she was convinced he was hiding them. When she realized is wasn't a joke - she said if she could lift me(never going to happen) - she would throw me off our balcony. My husband didn't help the situation - the more I apologized the more he and DD9 giggled and made fun of her.

I hope you had a wonderful Alaskain cruise. So sorry you had to return to bad news. :(

I always worry about not enough to do on the smaller ships too, but never seem to have a problem. But, I do know that the Sun is even "smaller than the normal smaller"...so, I'm still sorta worried. But when all else fails for us, we head to the casino. :D I know Sakari will love it no matter what because she will always have the kids club and they always have something fun going on there. They also have the small kids pool on the ship. So, she'll be happy either way.

The Seaward was my very first cruise in 1989. She was amazing. :)

We always have a good time no matter what happens. I make sure of it. :D

Do you remember if there was a place to drop off your carry on luggage before the rooms were ready?

snow bunny

I don't personally, but maybe someone else can answer that question for you. We just had our beach bag with us, so there wasn't a need to drop it off but I'm pretty sure that they always have an area that you can drop them off until the rooms are ready.

Oh my gosh, that's a hilarious story!! I seriously laughed and it definitely sounds like something that we would do (either by mistake and definitely on purpose). :D

I hope you have a wonderful cruise on the Sunshine. I would love it if you'd come back and let me know how it went. Or...if you do a review, give me a link. I have thought about doing the Sunshine and we have been beside it several times in port. It looks like a lot of fun. But, I'm just waiting for some of the reports to come back a little more positive. There seems to be a lot of complaints about the size of the ship versus the amount of people on it now that they have redone it. I really don't have too much of a problem with a "crowd", but definitely gotta love the ship and it looks like fun. :D
