Pinnacle Suite Question

We have stayed in Neptune Suites on previous cruises and are now in a Pinnacle Suite for our next cruise about the Amsterdam. Other than more square footage and a huge dining area, is there anything special or different that we can expect from what we have received as guests in a Neptune Suite?

You should be escorted on the ship and to your room if it is ready. If it is not, then you should be escorted to the Neptune Lounge and introduced to the concierge.

You can easily do course by course dining if you desire in the PS and have guests for dinner as well as entertain.

You may receive some extra flowers and/or other goodies.

We get the same service in the PS as in the SA.

Funny thing we travel with adult children and get them a SA. They had a issue

And spoke to the cabin steward and concierge about it & the concierge told them to have their aunt request it because they have clout in the PS.

IMO a SA is nice but it's not the PS

We have stayed in the PS many times, and beyond that great service, what you are paying for is the space. We have enjoyed dinner in the suite, and the extra half bath comes in handy.

I agree. We get great service in the "SA" and it was not any noticably different in "PS".

The only difference for some is escort to your cabin when you board but we often have that as well. :) Just by coincidence if someone we know is aboard, they sometimes walk us to our cabin. :)

That was an inappropriate response and leads me to think concerige simply didn't feel like dealing with it. No concierge should have have responded to a "SA" guest's request in that way.

We have stayed many times in the PS and only once were we invited to dine with the captain.

No extra cocktail parties.

Have you ever given a cocktail party in the PS? The Captain and HD will usually come and it is done so nicely with a steward serving appetizers and bartender mixing drinks. Or dinner with friends in your dining room? Lovely table and impeccable service with a steward serving from the pantry.

Sail7Seas I didn't know that you decide what was and wasn't appropriate!

I stated my opinion & experience.

I guess if my opinion is not the same as yours I am not allowed to have one!

Of course, your opinion is equally valid.

Where did I suggest someone should not express their opinion?

I was expressing mine.

Unless it is something that is fact (such as what time is boarding on a particular day/date), most everything we post here is opinion.

I used to write IMO on all of my opinion posts until I was told not to. There were posters here who said it was not necessary to write IMO as we all know a fact post from one that is opinion.

Can't win here for trying some days. :D

Yes.

No, the Captain and Hotel Director did not attend. We didn't expect either one to.

I think it possible/likely, the Hotel Director and Captain received invitations to the party which they attended. Not to say they accept every invitation but I can't imagine they would have come if they were not invited. ;)

Yes -- we gave a cocktail party once in the PS -- a long time ago. Invitations were also sent to the captain and hotel manager -- who did not show.

We have never had dinner in any cabin. DH prefers to eat mostly in the specialty restaurants and a few times in the dining room.

By the way -- we have had more invitations to dine with hotel directors when we stayed in the SA cabins.

We have thrown parties in the PS, and we have had the Captain, Hotel Manager, and the Cruise Director in attendance. I think it depends on the cruise, the day you have the event, and the schedule of the people invited. If there are a lot of sea days, the attendance seems to be a bit better. The PS is perfect for entertaining and traveling with friends. We have always enjoyed our stay in the PS suites.

This has been my experience also. And we always receive one dinner invitation from the Captain I thought it was the norm!

We have attended numerous PS parties. It's not unusual for ships officers to stop by and socialize, however, I don't think it's high on their list of priorities.

We have had several parties in the PS but never had officers show up.

Personally, my opinion ofcourse, when you stay in the PS, all you get for double the price of an SA is more square footage and nothing else. Service is no better or worse then staying in an SA.

Certainly not. Socializing with pax is part of their job if they choose t do it.
