Splitting final payment between 2 different credit cards

Has anyone done this? Did you call in or DIY on the payment page?

I noticed you could either choose "Make Final Payment" or "Pay a Different Amount" (something to that effect).

If I "Pay Different Amount" and put half the amount on it, will I then get another chance to pay the rest? (another "Pay Different Amount" box?). I don't want to start the process if it's not going to work correctly.

I have done this a few times, as my husband and I split the costs. I enter one of the card's info and the amount I want to pay under "pay different amount" and let that go through, which will leave a balance. I then go back and pay the balance shown with the other credit card. Pretty easy, if all the stars are aligned on the website (sometimes it won't take any payments). :)

OK, I am in the UK [and the systems may well be different] but I would never make a payment online. Have tried in the past but it is impossible to know if the payment has worked. It has failed [without any indication] on more than one occasion so that I now always pay by telephoning Celebrity Accounts Department.

I always have to pay in "chunks" because their system in the UK has a limit on how much can be taken at one time and our total due exceeds that limit. I also sometimes wish not to use so much of my credit limit on my credit card because of other expenditure coming up and will use a mixture of credit card and debit card. Never a problem paying this way.
