Enchantment of the Seas ~ June 13th Weekend Bahamas Getaway

Recommended Posts

Hi Friends!

It’s Michael here and I just returned my 3 day weekend getaway cruise on, Enchantment of the Seas, June 13th sailing. This was my 17th cruise but I brought along my good friend Tyler, which it was his first. I might add he mentioned at the end, “Now I understand why you like cruising so much!”

Now I did mention it was Friday the 13th right? Well bad luck indeed happened. I used the off-site parking “Park – N – Cruise” for $7.99/Day. I’ve actually used them 5+ times before and loved it. However, on this occasion my love was not so great, they have a new policy where they keep your car keys during the cruise. I actually got a little upset when I learned this, but figured everyone else is doing it right? Once I picked up my car on Monday, I was two hours north and notice my work cell phone was missing from the center console. I contacted the owner of the location, very upset and express strongly that I would never use them again and they should avoid this policy all together, to prevent this from occurring. They actually asked me, “Well, do you have proof?” I was in the Bahamas do you think I had proof?

Enough with the negative stuff! I used my Canon 60D with 135mm and 50mm prime lenses with Lightroom 5 for editing.

Here we go…

Check-In was a breeze, because we arrive around 11:30 and our check-in lady said most people are actually working a half a day. Must be nice to live in Florida is all I can say!

I loved the lady who checked us in! She was so much fun and asked that we have a drink for her right away! And you better believe we did!

Once we got onboard we decided to hear straight up to the pool deck and check out the Oasis Bar. This is my favorite pool bar in the fleet because it’s actually facing water! This was part of the stretch they added a few years ago.

This picture was taken at a later time, but I at least wanted everyone to see the Oasis Bar and how it's facing the water.

Hi Michael. I'm glad you're writing a review of your latest Enchantment cruise. I already asked you several Enchantment questions on another thread which you answered but came up with more questions which I hope you don't mind. Were there toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash) in the bathroom? Do you recall if the Kids Club was opened on boarding day? All for now. Thanks in advance for your help and looking forward to reading the rest of your review.

Thank you for the info on Park n cruise. We've also parked there several times but never left our keys. I will call them and if we have to leave our keys I'm going to cancel the reservation. I don't want my vehicle moved without me being present. That lot is so congested and, based on their remarks to you, they would ask me to prove a dent on my car!

The lot at the pier is pricey but we have not had any problems with them. DH wants to have car RIGHT THERE so we can get on the road.

We actually had a pretty bad summer storm hit around noon, so we had lunch in the windjammer then headed inside to the R Bar. For those of you who have not been to this bar, they make fresh cocktails by hand. It’s a throwback from the 70s but I wish they would wear 70’s clothes! Needless, to say this is one of my favorite bars inside.

Who doesn't love a fresh Mojito? It takes them around 5 mins to prepare the cocktail, but boy was it refreshing...

I did have toiletries and bathrobes in the cabin, but I think that's only a diamond perk...

Finally it's 1:30 and our cabin was ready. I was originally booked on deck 4 inside N, as I booked this cruise about 10 days before due to the price drop to $169pp. However, the price dropped even more and since I was inside final payment I was able to upgrade to a Large Ocean View for no extra charge. It was on deck 2, but I didn't have any complaints.

I'm sorry I didn't take any pictures from the sailaway party but it was pretty crazy that's all I can say. (likely why I didn't take pictures) It was packed with the typical line dancing and pool bars packed.

This evening I did stop by casino and noticed this nice bar with the world cup playing. In fact, they were playing the world cup all over the ship.

This was right outside the casino.

Hey Michael!

Thanks for the review. Can't wait till ours. You should still think about it!! Did you get the alcohol package? How was bar service?

Jodi

I did get the alcohol package, $55 per day and found it a great value!

I actually did this cruise in January and the package was not offered on the 3 day sailings, so I was happy they made this change.

Every ship has a different policy about signing the receipts and on the EOS they do require you to sign the $0.00 receipt. I will also note you can get bottles of water with the package and this was great to stay hydrated from all those drinks! :D

I'm going to wrap up day 1 with a picture from the Diamond Lounge with Carlton. I had him in the DL in Janurary so it was so great to see him again. He is one of the nicest crew members I've seen on a royal ship. He got a diet coke and sat down with us for around a hour. I did miss desmond be he was on a 10 week vacation.

It was pretty empty each evening, but that seems to be the norm on the 3 day sailings.

I do love the snacks each evening but never made it for coffee in the AM hours.

I always enjoy eating breakfast at Park Cafe, because they have fresh options. Some of the items you can find here: Fruit, Bagels, Oatmeal, Breakfast sandwich, burritos, and cereal.

This was the freshest fruit I've had in all my cruises. I actually thought it was better than what I get at fresh market.

After breakfast I wanted to relax in the solarium for a bit and it was so quite and peaceful. I could have sat here all day and read, but with out 72 hours on a cruise gotta make everyone count!

IMG_3316_zps40b1b59a.jpg

The EOS has six hot tubs that I can think of, two in here and four by the main pool.

Very nice pool bar and you never have to fight for a drink here. After breakfast I decided to go ahead and get my first drink of the day. Pina Colada.

So god and helped "wake" me up! :)
