giselleacttwo Posted July 7, 2014 #28 Share Posted July 7, 2014 I'm not a fan of Baked Alaska (anything with meringue, actually) but the presentation can be fun.
sherryf Posted July 7, 2014 #29 Share Posted July 7, 2014 Not if you are on a b2b. :D Or on an Alaskan cruise round trip from Seattle. Then you are in Victoria on the last night, so Baked Alaska is on the 2nd to last night.
hawkeyetlse Posted July 8, 2014 #30 Share Posted July 8, 2014 Sometimes it comes sliced from the galley having been prepared in a pan. Yikes! Looks like they sliced an artery at the same time

RetiredNTraveling Posted July 8, 2014 #35 Share Posted July 8, 2014 We are AT diners and always enjoy the Festivities! :) However, both of us prefer Sorbet that evening, because by that time of the cruise, we have just overindulged too much. But as for Meringue, I love it on Coconut Cream Pie, Chocolate Meringue, oh well you get it!:eek: I love Meringue!:D
Rare JustinPlusLauren Posted July 8, 2014 #36 Share Posted July 8, 2014 They had it in the Anytime dining room this past January on board the Emerald Princess - it was real cake they were parading around.
bigenna Posted July 8, 2014 #37 Share Posted July 8, 2014 I never eat the Baked Alaska. Don't like it one bit. I always ask for the regular desert menu, and they always bring it. Creme brulee is my default desert. I'm with you Shredie (and Pam) don't care for the baked alaska, love the creme brulee. Our waiter asked us if we wanted the B A or menu, we all asked for menus. Our waiter asked us if we wanted the B A or menu, we all asked for menus. Our waiters always have given us a choice on baked Alaska night so some folks had both.:) Some nites the waiter would bring and put in middle of table extra samples of the different deserts..No wonder we gain weight with all the temptations  Oh well it is a very true expression'One only lives once':D
