Best stateroom for three?

Well, we've done three HAL cruises, (And 23 others) but always as a simple DH/DW pair. Now we're contemplating a 2 week Australia cruise adding our adult daughter. So...... Are any staterooms/classes of staterooms better/more comfortable than others (for three in the room) on the Noordam?

 

(And dont say the Neptune suites.... that's above our pay grade!) :(

It would help if you would narrow down the classes a little more.

Are you interested in an inside? Outside? Must have a balcony? Willing to splurge a little?

 

There are some huge insides that would have a lot of room for three to move about a bit. The Signature Suites are significantly larger than the Vista balcony cabins, which are about the same size as the outsides.

Agree with Ruth. If Neptune Suites are out of consideration, what levels are in consideration? Of course, the larger the room (thus the higher the cost) the more space for the three of you...

Some of the inside suites are quite large and would fit 3 quite nicely. I think Ruth can give you advice on that.

Inside suites? Never heard of an inside suite on HAL...

The main deck J cabins on some ships are larger than regular insides, but they're not huge and they're not suites. They're about 200-220 sq ft. In addition to the two twins, there's a single pullout from the sofa and a pullman.

Probably a typo. Although there could be a secret inside area... The Salacia Suites with their own Salacia lounge.

We always go lowest level midship outside. Our son is now an adult, has grown up the HAL. 3 big points:

1) Pack realistically, closets are adequate for 3, but not excessive. There is limited table top space for clocks, kindles, I-pods- I pads, etc.

2) Keep the cabin picked up, if it is neat it will look bigger.

3) Have the steward make up the sofa bed daily. Or, get a 4 person room and have daughter in the pull down bunk, and twins for yourself and husband.

 

It is not hard at all to do. Enjoy your family cruise!

Sorry about not being more specific. IDEALLY we would like a basic ocean view, (DW does not like insides) but if going up a step or two would get us a better cabin (for three) I'd spend the money. (And cry all day, our standard cabin has always been "Obstructed view" and we've always been happy with them.)

 

Asking another basic question, are all the sofa's "sofa beds"? (Never done anything with them except to park my fat a** ..)
