Best and Worst Rooms on Ms. Liberty

OK. My family and friends are sailing on Ms. Liberty in 2015. We have booked 3 rooms so far: 6338, 6336, & 6224. One is a balcony room.

Let's us here from you. What would you say was your best room or worst room on Ms. Liberty and why? Thank you for your response!

We havent stayed in the cabins mentioned but they are all directly over the showroom. Most of the comments I have read are not favorable for this location. We were in this general area but on a higher deck and had no problems with the noise.

Deck 7 is usually the best deck because all cabins on this floor have rooms directly above and below. We never stay in a cabin that has a public venue above or below. Of course you could have noisy folks on either side, but that could happen anywhere.

Over the theater (6224) is fine if you don't go to bed until 11:30 or later and you don't take midday naps. They will hear noise from the activities going on in the theater, and that would include some rehearsals during the day. Overnight, it's empty. Your other 2 rooms are over the casino, which might or might not be noisy. I believe there is a band or soloist that plays music on the starboard side of the promenade bar, so it may be possible that the noise from that makes it into those rooms. They typically play later into the night, plus you never know how loud the casino might be at any hour. I wouldn't choose those 2 rooms.

I also recommend moving up to deck 7. All those rooms have staterooms both above & below, which is ideal. There are a few possibilities of balconies for 3 with interiors for 3 across the hall, as long as those rooms are available. The ones at the front of the ship on deck 7 are the same categories as what you have, so there shouldn't be any price difference. The ones more midship would be just 1 category higher. If none are available there, you could go to deck 8, but I wouldn't go any further back than 8288/8289. I believe that those plus all rooms forward of those have rooms above them. Back from those rooms will have lido deck public space above them. You could also try lido or panorama decks.

If you're looking to book more rooms, my personal preference is a porthole room down on deck 2. They are in limited supply though. "Porthole" rooms have 2 beds that can be pushed together, while "Upper/Lower (with portholes) rooms have 2 beds that cannot be pushed together. Depending on my circumstances, I usually go with one of those. If the price difference is very small, I'll upgrade to an oceanview. If those don't work out for me, I would either get a standard interior below the midship dining room on deck 2, or a midship interior room on deck 7.

Great to know. We are booked on Deck 7 on the Liberty next April and I booked it for the reasons that you listed!

We love our Lido deck balcony cabins. EXCEPT on Liberty. We booked 9276. There was a huge air intake vent over our heads. It sounded like a jet engine 24/7. We couldn't enjoy the balcony because of the noise. I implore everyone to stay away from 9276 through 9294 and 9275 through 9293.

See the red vent? Our cabin was directly below that.

all the more reason to book on the forward part of the ship :). Did an aft once and had cigarette smoke smells in the hallway, supposedly from where a crew storage/work area was. I've learned from that. :)

I'm looking at the deck plans and 9276 is directly under the vent. You listed 9294, which isn't near a vent. Why do you suggest to stay away from that room? We have it booked (glory, sister ship)and it doesn't look to be a problem. We stayed in 9266 and didn't hear a thing.

I agree the cabins on deck 7 mid-ship are great, deck 6 mid ship cabins are good also but make sure your cabin selection is not above the disco.

Stay away from 7339. It's directly across from the laundry. We had that room booked but I switched to 7385 a few weeks before the cruise. I'm glad we did.

What was wrong with that location? I am close to there in 1 week on Liberty. Havent heard anyone say they minded being close to the laundry.

It is very loud there. We walked past a few times. The laundry room door seems to stay open all the time. The washers and dryers are extremely loud and when people are in there talking to each other they're practically yelling at each other so they can be heard.

Was this at a time of day when people would be trying to sleep?

We were just on the Freedom (Liberty's sister ship) and stayed in room 6293. It is an interior room with a different layout than normal. These interior cabins have their own hallway. They midship, a short distance from elevators, and directly above the casino. We heard absolutely no casino noise and found the location to be perfect. The layout of the room is a bit different in that there is no "hallway" as you enter, meaning the closets are not directly across from the bathroom. The room had plenty of space and I would highly recommend it to anyone else wishing an interior room. Another note is that there is a deck all the way forward on this level...sometimes referred to as the "secret deck". It was easy to access for a quick trip outside if we wanted fresh air:)

Anyone stay in 1045 on Panaroma deck (inside cabin)?

I saw where 1050(Liberty) was reported as very quiet. Another said 1056(Liberty) was relatively quiet. 1011(Liberty) is near gym and they could hear a lot of noise. Sorry I could not find anything. Maybe someone else will chime in.

We stayed in 6269. It was a balcony above the shops, right near the stairs. It was a great cabin! This time we will be in 8387 and 89 I believe. They are right below the buffet seating area. We didn't have much choice booking only 3 weeks in advance and needing two 3 berth rooms beside each other. Hopefully it will be okay!

  • 1 month later...

We are looking at March 2015 and need connecting balcony rooms. This ship is filling up quickly, so the only good options seem to be 8427/8429 or 7427/7431 which are both aft. Does anyone have an opinion about these choices? Would you do aft just to get the connecting rooms or go forward and settle for side by side rooms? Thanks in advance
