Breeze or RC Oasis of the Seas?

Recommended Posts

I am looking at the Oasis (boardwalk balcony) for 7 days or the Breeze (Lido balcony) for 6. Even with the BOGOHO, the Oasis would be a little over $1,000 more. Do you think it would be worth that much more? We have sailed with Carnival 5 times now and thought it would be nice to try something different. We have to travel over the summer and there aren't a lot of cruise lines that travel to the Caribbean then. I think the Breeze looks beautiful but I read a review of the Oasis today and was blown away by the ship pictures.

this is just my opinion. $1,000 is almost enough for another cruise on carnival, or another cruise on any line really. $1000 is money that could be spent on drinks, casino, excursions etc. Would I spend an extra $1000 just to sail on Oasis? No. maybe $500 but not $1000. That $1,000 (if you want to try something different), you could sail Freedom of the seas. Like I said, my opinion. I'm sure your family would love the oasis (for me its too big) if your willing to fork over the extra $$$

You'll never know if it's worth it to you until you try it. If you can afford it, go for it, especially if you're cruising with kids who might like the extra activities. I could never convince my husband to spend an extra thousand bucks on a cruise, but then we are older and don't need to be entertained by the ship. We just like to relax on sea days. If you choose not to book the Oasis, do you think you'll still be wondering if you made the right decision? Sometimes you have to try things, even if you end up deciding later on that you wouldn't spend the money on that again. You won't know for sure until you try it.

I love cruising and I have done 3 Carnivals and 8 Royal with that being said Royal is my favorite line and that was my deliema also.I decided to try Breeze and do Oasis next year because I had so many other trips plan for this year in fact I been in London for 2and 1/2 months and I decided to save on cruising this year with that being said if you can afford it go on Oasis and enjoy the experience you can do Breeze at another time Carnival rates are always good whatever you decide enjoy your cruise.

Yeah, it wasn't easy to convince hubby to spend the extra money. The past two years we have taken two Carnival cruises. He stressed that if we do this then we can only take one next year. I'm okay with that. I think the Oasis would be a completely different experience. Also, our son will be 18 and I like that they offer activities for the 18-21 age group, unlike Carnival. While we were on our cruise last week (he is still 17) he asked what he would do next summer when he's 18, because he enjoyed going to the club to hang out with his new friends. Also, since our son is getting older, I don't know how many more cruises we will take him on. I think he would enjoy the Oasis. It seems to have more for him to do, especially since he's not the type to hang out at the pool. All he requested for next summer is we go to Cozumel, which isn't a problem with either ship.

I can tell you that my family of five would choose the Breeze. We just didn't care for the size of the Allure. Too big, too impersonal. Also, an actual ocean balcony vs one facing inside is apples and oranges in my book. We do plan on doing Royal again, but on a smaller ship. We sail on the Brilliance in 2016. I will say though, that Ocean Aria is beyond amazing.

We sailed both ships in one year. You have to try the Oasis or the Allure once, it is amazing. Their shows blow Carnival's show a way, however I think foods on Carnival is better.

There are more activities to do on the Oasis/Allure like rock climbing, surfing, zip lining and other water sport.

I agree the Oasis is something I want to try so I just booked it. I have a long wait though...we aren't going until August 1, 2015. The good news is I saved about $500 booking it Aug. 1 verses mid July. :D I think our son, who will turn 18 in Dec., will have more fun on the Oasis. We just got home from our Carnival Freedom cruise. I get like this...one cruise ends and I'm not happy until I book another. lol

Edited to add: I hope you are right about the food being better on Carnival. I gain way to much on those cruises, maybe I will do a bit better if the food isn't as good. After looking at their dinner menus, I can see me ordering a lot of grilled chicken.

I agree you can't compare the two balconies but it will be something different for us. On the plus side, I was able to snag the one furthest aft on deck 8 which gives us a view of the AquaTheater...I've read we can watch the shows from our balcony. :) It also gives us a partial ocean view in addition to the boardwalk view. I'm really looking forward to it. :D

I personally think you made a great choice, Oasis is my favorite ship. I cant say why but I cant wait to sail her again!! There is so much to see and do, The Aqua Theater is lots of fun, water shows, diving, light shows.. Just make sure to sign up for shows ahead of time, bummer to have to do a bit of preplanning but well worth it. I agree food is a bit better on CCL but you will never go hungry! For such a large ship you never felt the crowds, except at show times and maybe debark, but just go with the flow.

Great Ship to look forward too!

Enjoy

Anybody who recommends the Breeze over the Allure hasn't sailed on the Oasis twins (well, except for Jimbo :D).

We spent way more than $1000 more on the Allure than on our Dream cruise (close to $2,500 more) and we didn't even have a balcony (Boardwalk window). Still, our experience on the Allure was beyond amazing. Words can't really describe it.

With that said, I think that the Oasis twins are a one time experience, unless you can find a good deal. We thought that the extra cost was justified the first time, but we wouldn't do it a second time unless prices were a bit more comparable.

You will love that cabin, just be aware that it can be a long walk from the elevators.

Long walks are a good thing! I just weighed this morning and I gained 12.4 lbs, dh gained 17 lbs. and our teenage son gained 23 lbs. on our Freedom cruise (with a few days in Ft. Lauderdale prior). This is the worst we have ever done on a cruise!

Agreed but when I had to pee that hallway never ended.

Awesome news! It makes me feel like we got a real bargain!! I changed our date by a couple of weeks and saved about $500...it made the decision a no-brainer with only a $500 difference for all 3 of us. The Oasis is an extra day too. :D

I've been on both and I say Oasis of the Seas, without question! However, $1000 is a LOT of money. I don't know if you're locked in to sailing at a certain time, but if not, I'd look into sailing Oasis off season for better pricing.

Yes, you must have missed my post where I changed the date by a couple of weeks and saved $500. I was searching for July and ended up booking Aug. 1. I'm a teacher, but we don't have to go back to work till mid-late Aug. so I will be fine. I ended up playing around on the RC website until 3 AM when I found that rate and booked it. ;)

Excellent decision! You will be amazed by Oasis. I've done both twins and am going back to Oasis next year as well. I'll be in a Boardwalk balcony for the first time next year as well. Not the very last cabin, but about 3 away from the back. Enjoy your cruise!

booking early is the way to go, at least for my cruise on the oasis this November. We originally booked Allure last July but switched to the Oasis in January when they had a wow sale. We got the farthest aft boardwalk balcony on deck 11 for $727pp plus taxes and fees with $150 OBC.

The B1 boardwalk balconys have been sold out for a couple months now and just last week the B2 balconys were going for $1600+pp. They are back down to $1327pp now.

BTW Tapi convinced me to book it.:)
