Sparky2 Posted July 20, 2014 #26 Share Posted July 20, 2014 I do not ever remember seeing pecan pie on the menu. :( And I love pecan pie. I don't remember seeing it on the menu either. Is it on the "regular old menu" or on the new American Table menu? Just checked the American Table dessert menu that I printed out last year and see that pie is offered every night, but it doesn't say what kind. I know it was a different kind every night, though. JLee1973 Posted July 20, 2014 #28 Share Posted July 20, 2014 (edited) Just checked my 7 day menus and pecan pie is not on then. It must be on longer sailings only :( Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk Edited July 20, 2014 by JLee1973

pungo3 Posted July 20, 2014 #31 Share Posted July 20, 2014 I have been on 30 cruises and have never seen pecan pie on the menu. It's my favorite, so I know I would have ordered it. I hope they will add it.:D

luv2trvlnow Posted July 20, 2014 #33 Share Posted July 20, 2014 It looks like that Day 5 menu from zydecocruiser was on a cruise in Europe. I don't remember seeing it on any of the Caribbean cruises I have been on. Sharon

winddawn Posted July 20, 2014 #35 Share Posted July 20, 2014 Just been reading a few food threads and see lots of discussion on how bitter and blanc and WCMC are wonderful and how the baked alaska and pumpkin pie are horrible. However I never see anyone mention my favourite Carnival MDR dessert....the pecan pie! Anyone else love this dessert or is it just me? I've never had a pecan pie that is as good as mine. It's gotta be good southern pecan pie for me to eat it. Is it that good-like southern pecan pie good??
Florings Posted July 20, 2014 #36 Share Posted July 20, 2014 Yummy! I would definitely order that if I had seen it, but don't ever recall seeing it on the menu.
maryann2 Posted July 20, 2014 #37 Share Posted July 20, 2014 It was always available on the longer Transatlantic cruises. However, not as good as it used to be. It used to be all gooey and caramelly (sp) I don't bother to order it any more as last few times too dry.
golfadj Posted July 21, 2014 #38 Share Posted July 21, 2014 We have two longer cruises coming up and hopefully will see it than.
Fun, Fun 44 Posted July 21, 2014 #39 Share Posted July 21, 2014 We do 4-5 cruises a year and have never seen it offered. 14 day Panama Canal a no go too. But if it has the hint of orange I probably would be out anyway, but would sure give it a try once to check it out! Kat

I agree, would love to see this dessert menu. Would have the Amaretto cake, Baked Alaska, and Cheesecake for dessert (yes, on the same night. :) )

snc_cam Posted July 21, 2014 #42 Share Posted July 21, 2014 Well, if I must say, that is a "silly rule".... And I've always been one to test the "edges" of the rules. :)
JWGrayson Posted July 21, 2014 #43 Share Posted July 21, 2014 I am also a big fan of Pecan Pie, but Key Lime Pie is my fav!! Seems that KLP has been relegated to the lido desert buffet only once each cruise at lunch. Consequently, I tend to miss it. :(
Velvetwater Posted July 21, 2014 Author #44 Share Posted July 21, 2014 Nothing wrong with having 3 desserts! As a Brit I must say pecan pie isnt often on the menu but it s a little like English treacle tart with pecans in. As a massive fan of nuts I love it. Carnival's offering reminds me of a fairly yummy treacle tart with nuts in. Sad to hear it wasn't on the Panama Canal cruise earlier this year....I was hoping to have it next month on the Legend 13 day voyage. If its there I am having 2 pieces! :D

I would expect to see it on a cruise of that length. Ask the maitre d' the first night if it will be served one evening, and if not, if they could prepare one for you. Sounds like it wouldn't be a problem for you to eat a pecan pie over a few evenings.

The only pie that Carnival has that I like is the Key Lime Pie, yum yum.
