I received a reply from HAL regarding my question about Mass in Seward with an 8pm departure time.

The reply says :

The following service schedule will be adhered to. Hotel staff onboard will refuse group use of these rooms at these times:

Catholic:

Sea Day- 8am

Port Day- 5pm

Sunday Turn Around Day- 5pm

Saturday Vigil Mass- 5pm

Interdenominational:

Sunday- 9am

Jewish Sabbath Eve:

Friday- 5pm

There was nothing said specifically about Seward, but I am taking this to mean that there WILL be a 5pm Mass on our Embarkation day ( Sunday ) before our departure.

Does the same apply to cruises that depart from Seward at 8pm on a Sunday evening? If we board in the afternoon' date=' will there be a 5pm Mass on embarkation day?

5PM in the Wajang theater 8/17 on the Statendam. I assume Oosterdam would be the same.

I assume though that there is always a possibility of a problem on embarkation day as the priest is also likely just embarking.

I was on the Oosterdam in July and there was a Mass at 5:PM and I was the priest on board!

On the Oosterdam the Mass is in the Queens lounge midship on the Lower Promenade Deck. That is Deck 2.
