Adding someone to a booking

Has anyone added a 4th person to a booking for part of a cruise?

We have a cabin on Equinox for ourselves and younger son as older son is at Uni. The cabin we have booked sleeps 4.

It now would appear that older son might be able to join us for part of the cruise in the middle.

I doubt if it would be possible but would be interested to know if it had been done.

It will depend on where the ship is sailing from and to. You will have to pay whatever the full fare would be for the 4th person in the cabin. You will also have to arrange late boarding or early departure with Celebrity, so you'll have to call them.

It is possible, but not guaranteed. Sometimes the ship reaches capacity, and regardless of the number of people that particular cabin holds, if the ship is at capacity you cannot add passengers to the sailing. There can be last minute cancellations, so don't give up if you find this is the case, but it could happen.

There is no reduced cost for joining a cruise late or leaving early. You would be paying for the whole cruise.

What you are asking to do is called joining a cruise downline.

You must get clearance from Celebrity in advance.

You must make sure that your plan is not in violation of the PVSA. If the 4th passenger is joining the cruise in a foreign port and coming back to the US you are probably oaks far as that law goes, but you still need to check it out in advance .

If it is their Equinox on 10/14 it will still be in the Med. Is it not easier to do this over there?

Thank's for your input, His Uni goes back next week so we will see what his timetable is like and maybe make a phonecall.

We are thinking of him joining in Livorno or Civitaveccia and leaving in Venice or Dubrovnik.

If they were to charge for him as a 4th person what we paid for the 3rd person when we booked it then it's a no brainer. If it were full fare then that's another matter entirely.

Something to think about.
