SHAZA0208 Posted August 28, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 28, 2014 Does any one know if you can use the Fed Ex pre paid cards to settle your on board account? Many thanks Not sure, but I do know that you cannot use the Royal Mail post office pre paid mastercard and American Express Traveller Cheque card. See section 9, 'How do I pay for onboard purchases?' at the back of the RCI Cruise Brochure. You might be able to download it.
kc320 Posted August 28, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 28, 2014 I don't believe you can use any Pre-paid card....
cb at sea Posted August 28, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 28, 2014 Do not plan on using those sort of cards. Credit cards are best...even debit cards cause problems (with your bank account, mainly!)...those "prepaid cards" are simply cash, so just bring the cash itself! Debitoo Posted August 28, 2014 #6 Share Posted August 28, 2014 You can buy on board credit with PrePaid cards for an existing reservation. Call 800-722-5443. I just called them and verified this.
setsail Posted August 28, 2014 #7 Share Posted August 28, 2014 We have started bringing a PP card all the time for going ashore/shopping If the # is stolen, no accounts are in harms way. They also work great for online shopping
Merly Posted August 28, 2014 Author #8 Share Posted August 28, 2014 Thank you every one for your responses. It is not for me, we always use a credit card or pay cash at the end of our cruise but one of our travel companions has loaded up a card and now wants to use it. I will advise her that she will have to think again. Many thanks
clarky213 Posted August 28, 2014 #9 Share Posted August 28, 2014 I was refused with a pre-paid card last year on Splendour in Venice. Fortunately, I had brought my Credit Card as Back-up
ryano Posted August 28, 2014 #10 Share Posted August 28, 2014 (edited) but one of our travel companions has loaded up a card and now wants to use it. I will advise her that she will have to think again. Many thanks She can always do as someone suggest above and call Gifts and Gear and purchase OBC for her cruise with the prepaid card :) She will immediately be able to use her Seapass upon boarding and the credit will show up on her account on day two of her cruise. Any OBC not used will be fully refundable at the end of her cruise. She can go to guest services and cash out on the last night.
