jb456 Posted August 31, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 31, 2014 (edited) What are the smoking policies on CB? Where can we smoke? Are there any bars that we can smoke at? Thank you PS - I know it's bad LOL Edited August 31, 2014 by jb456
Pam in CA Posted August 31, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 31, 2014 The Princess website is a wonderful source of information. There's a very detailed FAQs page which will answer most of your questions, including smoking. The smoking policy is across the board and doesn't differ by ship: http://www.princess.com/learn/faq_answer/onboard/experience.jsp

Thank you PS - I know it's bad LOL jb456: Me and my son just got back from CB ... - Promenade Deck - inside the casino, there is a bar there. On one side of the casino smoking is allowed. Only exception is on one particular evening, no smoking allowed. Technically, I understand one has to be a "player" to enjoy a smoke there but no one cares. People were smoking there even when the ship was in port, i.e. casino is not opened. - Lido Deck - go to the very end of the ship (I think that's called the Aft), on the starboard side, outside area where there is a small pool, smoking is allowed. Wait staff very courteous, going around the tables with ash trays to see if the smokers need a refill of their coffee. i.e. smokers not treated as second class citizen there. - Again Promenade Deck - at the very back of the ship, on the port side, there are ash trays along the "outside walls", smoking is allowed there. This area is just outside the lounge called Club Fusion. Don't know if there are other spots on CB where smoking is allowed. Also, I understand by reading some of the comments on here sometime the "smoking locations" changes, but I am sure the smokers are accommodated by CB in a civilized fashion via the use of alternate areas. Hope that helps! Just in case, at least when we were on the Carnival Breeze last December, one can purchase a carton (or more) cigarettes and take it away. Caribbean Princess, at least last week, no go, I think you only get it at the end of the cruise. You can get a single pack of Marlboro Red for USD$4 at the bar, no 15% gratuities added on. Whether all the bars have them I don't know but I know the bar in the casino sells them. Edited August 31, 2014 by Retiringworkingstiff

OCruisers Posted August 31, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 31, 2014 (edited) The smoking policy doesn't change by ship but exactly where it's actually allowed can vary. The exact place outside isn't always the same. Saying there will be an outdoor smoking area available doesn't tell anyone much of anything. Exactly where outside???? Thanks Retiringworkingstiff for kindly providing the answers! Very nice of you! :) LuLu ~~~~ Edited August 31, 2014 by OCruisers

We have cruised on the Caribbean Princess many times, and I can confirm all the locations mentioned in the post above. In addition, there is a dedicated smoking/cigar bar called Churchill's on deck 6 forward, just outside the Princess Theater entrances on that deck. Hope you have a wonderful trip. LuLu Hi Oppps LuLu: The Churchill was one of the lounges I REALLY REGRETTED not spending any time at! It looks so nice ... virtually empty ... dark wood ... leather sofas ... my kind of town ... baseball game shown on TV there (unfortunately it's not the Blue Jays but ... no further comment ... ). I did see a lady in there one evening with a cigarette, I thought the place is for cigar smokers but I am almost certain cigarette smokers are more than welcome there, maybe order a martini or something. Is Skywalkers now a completely non smoking area? Last time I was on the CB there was a section designated for smokers.

It is not limited to cigar smoking. However, it is the only place on the ship where cigar smoking is allowed.

shredie Posted September 1, 2014 #15 Share Posted September 1, 2014 I may be remembering wrong , but I think I saw ashtrays in skywalkers on the star last month.
MJSailors Posted September 1, 2014 #16 Share Posted September 1, 2014 I am not certain if has been mentioned before, but this is a gentle reminder - there is no smoking allowed on the balcony. This is a Princess policy fleetwide. I do think that there is a smoking area on the Promenade deck- not certain if it is port or starboard though. To be clear about a certain ship's smoking areas,it might be a good idea to check with Passenger Services when you first get onboard to receive firsthand information about the smoking areas.
