Firewife1031 Posted September 1, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 1, 2014 Yup. We always bring one to get the wrinkles out of our formal dresses. They also have a pressing service but I can't remember how much they charge. :)
rainbowflag Posted September 1, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 1, 2014 No, from Carnival web site: Confiscated Items • Alcohol (hard liquor)/sealed, unopened bottles • Beer/sealed, unopened bottles/cans • Wine or champagne/sealed, unopened bottles - beyond the allowable limit of one bottle (750 ml. size) per adult 21 years of age (brought on at embarkation time only in their carry-on luggage) • Clothing irons and steamers (all Carnival ships offer laundry facilities with irons and ironing boards. Fleet-wide valet laundry service is also available for a nominal fee.)
SadieN Posted September 1, 2014 #4 Share Posted September 1, 2014 Hang it up. Many will hang it up in a steamy bathroom. Wrinkle release also works. It's basically softener and water.

ThuviaRN Posted September 1, 2014 #6 Share Posted September 1, 2014 No. A gal I met in the laundry room waiting in line to iron said hers was confiscated. I used the Downey Wrinkle Release for all but one item. You can get it on travel sizes.
momof4boys Posted September 1, 2014 #7 Share Posted September 1, 2014 No....it is a safety issue. Please feel free to smuggle your liquor on board...but please don't put the safety of others in jeopardy. :)
Rock_ON!! Posted September 1, 2014 #8 Share Posted September 1, 2014 There are irons with an ironing board in the laundry rooms for all to use. It's just a moment, this time will pass
sjcruiser Posted September 1, 2014 #9 Share Posted September 1, 2014 I usually take a steamer along (no flames) but this time I didn't, and didn't have a problem using the laundry rooms irons. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
OCruisers Posted September 1, 2014 #10 Share Posted September 1, 2014 Either use an iron provided at n/c in a laundry room or send things out. LuLu
Firewife1031 Posted September 1, 2014 #11 Share Posted September 1, 2014 NO! You've been lucky slipping through. We never tried to sneak it on, just threw it in the garment bag with the formals. It's only a small travel size one anyways. I was under the impression that as long as your flat irons, curling irons, and steamers had an auto-off switch they were ok to take on board. Oh well. If you're not afraid to lose it just pack it and see what happens.

I love Downey's wrinkle release, it's so awesome. I can find the travel size bottles at Target and use it for everything.

Bring it, but keep in mind you might have to report to the naughty room to open your suitcase, then take time post cruise to retrieve it. That is a pain in the neck. I not sure I understand the logic of knowing its against the rules, knowing its a fire hazard and yet still have the thought of bringing it on to see if they will catch it. I just don't get that at all

I just don't get that at all Neither do I. Some will always make their own rules regardless of the jeopardy they place their lives in and that of others aboard as well.
