cruisinmeme Posted September 13, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 13, 2014 For recent cruisers on the dawn. Was the MDR open on both sea days and port days. We will be suite guest but prefer the menu in the MDR. I know that cagneys will fetch items for us, but I am not about to ask for them to get meals for 4 people for us when we can go to MDR. Now it is a different story for breakfast, we like cagneys. Thanks
Demonyte Posted September 13, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 13, 2014 Can't help you with MDR opening times just now (when we sailed on her this April, besides the embarkation day we always had lunch elsewhere), but MDR menus have been updated so the lunch menu is not the same as before this spring - now there are at least two versions of lunch, A and B. cruiser1955a Posted September 13, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 13, 2014 (edited) Venetian dining room is open for lunch all 7 days. Edited September 13, 2014 by cruiser1955a
Barb Nahoumi Posted September 13, 2014 #4 Share Posted September 13, 2014 The main MDR is also open with limited hours and menu on Embarkation Day. This is so much easier than jockeying for tables in the buffet, when you're dragging carry-on luggage. I think that this is the case on all NCL ships. njhorseman Posted September 13, 2014 #5 Share Posted September 13, 2014 The Venetian will be open for lunch on embarkation day and sea days, but do not expect it to be open on most port days. NCL changed its policy a year or two ago and no longer has an MDR open on most port days.
cruisinmeme Posted September 14, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted September 14, 2014 Guess we will hit the MDR on embarkation and sea days. Our first ncl cruise 4 years ago and I can't remember what we did. The next two cruises we had a suite and went to cagneys. Even if the menu has changed some we liked all the choices in MDR. Thanks for the info
shout19661966 Posted September 19, 2014 #7 Share Posted September 19, 2014 sailed the dawn in February. MDR's were open on first day and all sea days. I do believe they were closed on Port days.
