Great! Now I will definitely be getting cheers. There's no issue taking the bottles off at HMC and Grand Turk.

And one more question about the match play folks - is it a problem giving my sister the match play chips since she gambles and I don't? I drink and she doesn't so she definitely won't be buying Cheers.

I was under the impression that the classic cocktails for match play had to be purchased at the casino bar. Is that correct? Can any classic cocktail purchase receipt from any of the bars be used for match play?

We just got off the Glory last week and were able to use the receipts for any Classic Cocktail ordered from MDF, Casino Bar, Red Rum Bar, etc. Any bar or server as long as you have the receipt. Sign the REPRINT, as you have to have the original for the Match play coupon.

Worked like a charm last week and we had nearly 50 matchplays over the course of the week between my husband & I! Of course, we didn't drink all of those. We would sip on a Mai Tai or Cruiser for about 1/4 of it, and then get a new one once it was too watery.

Also the banana split smoothies are included in CHEERS and make a nice desert/snack! (non-alcoholic or alcoholic)

If you get a classic cocktail you can take your receipt to the casino and get a $5 match play. In a day that's a lot of free money they are giving back to you. You do have to make a $5 bet with the match play . Good at any table game.

I came to this thread thinking it would be full of advice like "drink like you're voting in Chicago; early and often", but this idea is pretty good. Thanks!

Buy the pre-cruise cooler with beer, cups, koozies, and a bottle opener and find a bartender who is willing to hold yoru card for 25 mintues and fill your cooler with 5 unopened beers!!

Where do we get that cooler?

Does anyone know if the after dinner shots they sell in the dining room in the fancy little shot glasses are under $10 ? We got enough of them I should remember but I don't .

Yes, those shots are under $10. BUT you will be charged a small amount for the "fancy little shot glasses" :)

Yes, I did it one night on our cruise in December. This time I'm going to do it every night I have drinks left. I took 2 beers and an angry orchard back to the cabin :)

Do they offer any malt beverages, like Mikes or Smirnoff?

What falls under the Classic Cocktail menu? Margarita on the rocks?

I was just thinking of getting a few without ice and putting them in a jug type cooler. Keeping that in the fridge in the room, and taking that to HMC.

You guys have me scheming now! Bring a small plastic wrap to put under that lid of the jug.

when did they start serving angry orchard. I can't drink beer due to gout. If it this so, it may be time to book another carnival cruise

If you are sharing a room with her she HAS to purchase Cheers or no one does. Everyone in the cabin who is of age has to purchase it.

If not sharing the cabin I don't see why you couldn't give them to her.

Not a problem at all - I just play slots so I would always give my husband my match play chips since he plays table games - of course he says he NEVER wins with them 😥😥

No we aren't booked in the same cabin. If we were, I wouldn't even entertain the idea of buying Cheers since she only has one or two drinks a day max. Would be a waste of money for her.

Oh I am SO happy I found this board! My boyfriend and I will be on the Carnival Sensation in 15 days!! (Leaving Pensacola in 14!! :D:D )

We are definitely getting CHEERS (as we both love our adult beverages) and the match play adds the icing to the cake!!! (assuming this is available on the Sensation??? Does anyone know?)

And, I just saw the picture of the classic cocktails menu AND THOSE ARE ALL THE DRINKS I WAS INTERESTED IN GETTING! Long Islands are definitely my go-to drink (more bang for your buck), but I've heard excellent things about the mai tai and the cruiser.

We don't plan on spending any of our cash we bring aboard on shopping or the casino (we just want to relax, drink, and soak up the sun), but hey free casino money leads to the possibility of even more drink money for the ports!

Thanks for the tips fellow drinkers!

Is it true that Carnival now has Fireball whiskey? I had read about it on another thread when the poster was mad that he had to wait 5 minutes to pour it into his Angry Orchard. He was also upset that it took up 2 of his 15 drinks when he could have gotten more bang for his buck by drinking Long Islands since they are stronger and only use up 1 out of his 15 allotment.

If you are having a light night you and whoever else is on the program grab a beer every 5 mins till you max out and put them in the fridge so if you have a day your limit is reached you have back up... Its been done.

Exactly. Everyday just fill the leftover void with beers. Then have a massive party on your wrap balcony.

Don't have a balcony? Pick another place.

Invite me!:D

The other way is to double up with another cabin, but you'll have more luck if you find someone with the same taste of alcohol. I imagine mixing up drink orders with different types of liquors sends of a red flag. If they're even looking.

Me? I save the $350 (or whatever it is) per person by bringing my own $20 bottle of alcohol. I'll fight the monopoly battle till I can't

Thanks! I thought they did away with match play. I don't normally drink - but I might on this upcoming trip or stock up on some unopened sodas.
