First time cruise with P&O have cruised with RCL in the past they allowed 2 bottles per cabin, how many do P&O allow we do like to have a glass or 2 on the balcony (weather permitting)we are booked on the Christmas cruise 17th December 2014

 :D

You can take on as much as you like as long as it is not in crates or barrels.:D

Enjoy Merry Christmas to you:)

Totally agree! On my BIL last Cruise it was plus spirits, mixers and beer. :D

He was so happy, because on his previous RCL they convescated everything except two bottles of wine.

Again have a wonderful cruise.

We are just back from Azura & took on a box of wine with no problems. No one even mentioned it.

find a box fits in fridge better than bottles.

I dont think they ever would mention it. I think the reasonable amount policy is in place more if large groups travel together, stag, hen parties etc and they try board with 20 crates of beer between them or they have complaints about noisy passengers partying in their cabin late at night and then they might restrict them bringing more alcohol on at the following port.

I think if you are a couple and bring a case of beer, a few bottles of wine and maybe some spirits you are going to be absolutely fine.

Just a little reminder that if you take drink onboard it is ONLY for drinking in the cabin, nowhere else.

You mean I cant sit at the bar with my bottle of Tesco Value Vodka, 2L bottle of Rola Cola and use my own plastic cups to drink it from while asking the bar man for some ice?!

you will still tip the bar man though wont you??????

Ive only been aware of someone getting kicked off a ship I was on once and I think it was a fairly rare occurence and that was for stealing perfume from the onboard duty free shop.

Rumors seem to circulate every cruise about some one/family being thrown off. I have never seen it happen.

In the many cruises we have taken I have never heard the rumour before or after this particular event.

I do know they were asked to leave the ship, were served notice that they were not welcome on any future cruise within the portfolio and in exchange for them "going quietly" and making their own way home the matter was closed, there was no local Police involvement.

I also dont think you would see it happen, I imagine it is quite discreet, I dont think they are marched off in cruise ship handcuffs having tomatoes thrown at them, probably just escorted to the gangway.

You can often see people disembarking the ship when its in port on a day that isnt that start or finish of the cruise, these could be head office staff, entertainers, travel agents, journalists, passengers with an issue back home or many other reasons - they probably just blend in with them on the rare time it happens.

Did you pack in your case or carry on bags

I would not pack any liquids in your main luggage they tend to be manhandled and piled on top of each other so if your case is at the bottom with wine in.... Just carry it in hand luggage. Better still if going from Barbados when you have embarked and you have your cruise card, wander down to the port terminal where there is a DF shop. You may need to check the timings for your arrival and the ships departure.

You do not pass through the terminal at the airport so no chance to buy when you get off.

On our last cruise, we met a few couples who either carried a bottle of "water" to add to their coke or kept going back to their cabin to top up. Personally, I couldn't be bothered.

How mean and adolescent bet they take the tips off as well and complain service is slipping !

I put one of the flat plastic bottles of gin you get at airport duty free shops in my main luggage, no problem. Bought tonic and lemons in first port. G&T on balcony pre dinner each evening for both of us. what more does one want? Ran dry after about 10 days, so bought half bottle in Port. Won't run dry next time, I now have 2 plastic airport bottles sitting in my cabinet at home waiting for our February Caribbean cruise.

As far as I know its only P&O who allow it. Reason enough for me to stick with P&O for foreseeable future :D

You cannot take bottles of wine or wine boxes in your hand luggage!!! in case anyone has not noticed all liquids other than 100ml bottles are confiscated,,either put a wine box in your case well packed or buy some when you arrive in Barbados or wherever you arrive !!!
