arubalover76 Posted September 21, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 21, 2014 I was wondering who has cruised on Halloween and do they have a masquerade party?
sail7seas Posted September 21, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 21, 2014 Which cruise line? It varies widely. Welcome to CC. Happy you found us. :)

arubalover76 Posted September 21, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted September 21, 2014 We will be on Celebrity, just wondering if dressed up in costumes. Not sure we were wanting to haul more clothes.
cruisead Posted September 21, 2014 #6 Share Posted September 21, 2014 If you had been on Carnival, the chances of people dressing up on Halloween is pretty high, but on Celebrity, not many at all will be bringing costumes. The entertainment staff has provided things to make masks, and some will wrap themselves in bed sheets like a toga, but not many in real costumes. Krazy Kruizers Posted September 21, 2014 #7 Share Posted September 21, 2014 Welcome to Cruise Critic. We have been on several cruises over Halloween. Some people dressed up -- not a lot. There was a party at night -- you could attend whether you were dressed up or not.

boogs Posted September 21, 2014 #9 Share Posted September 21, 2014 Our cruise on Celebrity Reflection had Halloween decorations and a party where the ship's officers acted out some of the dance routines in Michael Jackson's Thriller. Enough people dressed up in costumes to make it fun for everyone, but most stayed in their normal clothes.
sail7seas Posted September 21, 2014 #10 Share Posted September 21, 2014 We sailed HAL several times on Halloween and they had party in Crows Nest with costume contest. Enough people were in costume to make it really fun. Some folks really put a lot of thought and effort into their costumes and prizes were awarded. sail7seas Posted September 21, 2014 #12 Share Posted September 21, 2014 I agree. I've never seen HAL decorate in this way for Halloween. :)
Krazy Kruizers Posted September 21, 2014 #13 Share Posted September 21, 2014 We have seen a few decorations as we entered the dining room on HAL ships. The Crow's Nest had a bunch of balloons and streamers. On one cruise there was a pub crawl that ended in the Northern Lights where the main party was. travlnblueberries Posted September 21, 2014 #14 Share Posted September 21, 2014 We've been on about 6 or 7. All your major lines and they all had people dressed up. Some not so much as others but there were always people dressed. A lot of Mad Hatters every year for some reason. And always a Halloween party. travlnblueberries Posted September 21, 2014 #15 Share Posted September 21, 2014 You can always buy a costume at your departure port, then just toss it at the end.
dorisis Posted September 22, 2014 #16 Share Posted September 22, 2014 We will be on Celebrity, just wondering if dressed up in costumes. Not sure we were wanting to haul more clothes. All the Halloween cruises I have been on have had costume parties or parades. It is not required that passengers participate.
