Allure or Oasis post dry dock?

We are thinking about booking a cruise for January. We have previously sailed on the Oasis. The week we are looking at Allure goes western and the Oasis goes eastern. We would prefer the eastern itinerary but right now the Allure is cheaper.

Will their be that much of a difference between the two ships after Oasis goes through dry dock? We don't care either way about Dynamic Dining. We would probably lean towards thinking it was a plus but it is hard to tell since there aren't any reports on it yet.

Hard to say how much difference there will be till Oasis actually comes out of dry dock. Shows are changing (Cats instead of hairspray, etch), some new food venues (Dog house in place of Donut place, Sabo instead of Seafood Shack, etc.) Updating soft furnishings, carpeting, etc. MDR is getting switched to Dynamic Dining, but the actual DD won't go into effect till March or April 2015 - so that won't affect your sailing.

Personally, we prefer the western itinerary over eastern - but that's personal choice. Given that Allure is cheaper, we would probably go with that one to save a little $$$ and since you like the itinerary better anyways, seems a no brainer.

Although, if you want to see the Oasis changes - and this is your only chance, then maybe Oasis. That didn't help at all, did it?

Personally, given you like Eastern better and Allure is a little less, I'd be going with Allure. With those ships, it's really all about the ship rather than itinerary anyways!!

Have a great time, whichever you choose.

Cats will be on Oasis and there will be suites added where the public balconies aft are now located. There are also reported changes to the location with the Concierge Lounge being placed in the Viking Crown Lounge and changes made to that original location to become a different venue - perhaps others can confirm. Preparations for Dynamic Dining will be made but it is not planned for launch until the spring.

We were on the Oasis in May of this year and the new internet structure was not active until August, 2014. This is important for some of our group when we travel so check to see if the new upgrades are completed and active on whichever ship you travel on.
