Drink Package on Regal Princess

You can either order it ahead of time or purchase it once you're on board. You can't do it at check-in (as far as I know).
The check-in computers only have the passenger list. They do not have access to the booking system or dining reservations. You cannot get an upgrade, change your dining preference, or book the Sanctuary, Internet package or soda/alcohol package on the pier.

If you haven't pre-purchased a soda or alcohol package, just go to any bar, lounge, dining room, buffet, Lido, etc. or order it.

Do you just buy it at the Customer Service desk?
As Pam said, there are several different places to buy it, but as you are exploring the ship after boarding you will almost certainly come across a table in one of the central public areas covered in wine bottles, wine crates, bunches of fake grapes, coffee mugs, etc. They are there to sell you bar packages, wine packages, soda cards, coffee cards… Within 30 seconds you can have your sticker on your room card.

Then, for the next day or so, you will continue to walk by this table every 2 or three hours, and every single time they will offer to sell you another drinks package, or a coffee card, or maybe some wine? It may help if you make sure you have a cocktail in your hand at all times as you walk around the ship. :D

Ah yes, I do remember this from our last cruise. And I certainly plan to have a cocktail in hand at all times! :)

Thank you!

Do you buy the drinks package for the whole of your cruise or can you buy it for just some days.

If you buy on board say on day 2or3 ,would you still be charged for the whole cruise .

Still considering the all inclusive package for our forthcoming Sapphire cruise. 17nights. 6 port days. Thanks

Whole cruise (all 17 days) even if you buy it the morning after embarkation. It's available only the first 24 hours after embarkation.

This is why it's such a money maker for the cruise lines: people get off in port, often all day, and don't drink the value. Remember, the break even point is only if you order all the drinks every single day or average for every day on the cruise.

  • 1 year later...
We are traveling with a large party in November, does everyone in cabin / group have to purchase drink package? Or can just 1 or 2 people purchase it.

Everyone in cabin does not have to buy package.

1 or 2 people can purchase package.

Great! Do you just buy it at the Customer Service desk? We have a while before we cruise. Just trying to get a better understanding of things! :)

No, not at Customer Service. You will see tables set up around the ship selling beverage packages. That is where you purchase.

So, if only one of us buys an drink package, is there any problems with sharing that drink? LOL Has anyone done this before. We are not huge drinkers so buying 2 packages is a bit pricey for us.

No sharing allowed except for a bottle of wine.

Thanks for your reply...I really didn't think so. LOL Guess we'll play it by ear. Do you know if you can bring pop or bottled water on board with you?

Yes, you may bring soda and bottled water on board. I don't believe there's a limit on these.

Another thread says that on the Island Princess it was possible to purchase the package up until there were four remaining days on the cruise, paying only for those days.

From the Patter: "Package can be purchased any day of the cruise and will be effective from the time and day of sign up. The All Inclusive Package can be purchased no later than 4 days prior to the voyage ends."
