Podie Posted October 15, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 15, 2014 My daughter and her husband just spent a week on the Navigator out of Galveston and she asked me to write a very brief review for her. She wants to call it: Beautiful Ship, Great Cabin, Excellent Spa, Crappy Food. She went on to explain that their two meals at Giovanni's were the best of the best (the beef tenderloin was better than Chops) and their two meals at Chops were good, but the two dinners they ate in the MDR were just edible. And the buffet was often inedible. She said it appears they want to drive you to the specialty restaurants and it worked because after the first night, the other couple at their MDR table said they would not be returning. What's up with this food?
Clarea Posted October 15, 2014 #2 Share Posted October 15, 2014 We were onboard Navigator a month ago and thought the food was fine, both MDR and Windjammer.
Wilson Posted October 15, 2014 #3 Share Posted October 15, 2014 We were on Navigator the first week of April and felt that the food at the MDR was very good and the service above average. Windjammer was just okay. We tried Chops and Sabor. Chops service was terrible and our filets were dry, dry, dry. We ate at Sabor and LOVED it. The food and service was excellent. airmanship Posted October 15, 2014 #4 Share Posted October 15, 2014 Just off Navigator Sept 28th-Oct5th Western. NEVER ate in the MDR. Food no so good and we get tired of the slow service. Sabor twice - Great! loved the Guacamole. Giovanni's table once - okay...liked Portofino's menu better. Chops all other nights!- loved it! The best Noticed that all the desserts in every venue were not as good as past. I have heard that they are outsourcing desserts now :( Lunch in Windjammer VERY crowded every day! I may try to look for somewhere else to go. Breakfast in room service or Chops (suite guest) very nice! Ship clean Shows- so-so. the Bon Jovi was the best. acapella group singing was good too! Diamond Lounge VERY crowded with elders "camped out" and not very friendly.

Langley Cruisers Posted October 15, 2014 #6 Share Posted October 15, 2014 Just proved once again how food is so subjective. ;)

cruzin lady Posted October 15, 2014 #8 Share Posted October 15, 2014 We just came home Sunday from consecutive cruises on Navigtor. We thought everything about the ship and port services were great. This comment includes food, service, and we ate all dinners in the MDR. We had breakfasts & 1 lunch in the Windjammer---no complaints.
