We are headed out on the 23rd, and booked a large cabana with another family. How does the priority tender work? How do they know you have a cabana? (and thanks for the posts & pics..!! makes the planning easier.. I need to remember to get some glow stuff :D )

You will get a letter in your stateroom the night before that will also have a priority tender ticket. Only one ticket is issued per cabaña. The ticket will tell you where your group should meet. In our case it was in the Spiegel Tent between 9:00 and 9:30. We took the first tender over and then you go to the information and tour sales booth on the island. (It's right there when you first arrive.) Then the tram will take you to the cabaña area.

The large cabañas are up higher on the island and you need to climb steps to get to them and down to the beach.

Joann,

Six of us, all family, will be going on our March Breakaway cruise and I'm thinking that we may want to get a cabana.

I've read that some people who booked cabanas had problems with others "parking" right in front of their cabanas and even taking their mats and coming into their cabanas. If I remember correctly, this was on another board.

Did you have any problems with "cabana crashers"?

We had absolutely no problem with "cabaña crashers". If you saw the pictures of our view from the cabaña, there was plenty of room for everyone. I can't imagine that anyone would want to park in front of the cabaña area. If I remember correctly there is even a pathway/sidewalk in front of them. And there is also a row of bushes in front that would not allow that. See the picture below.

I think people on the other boards were referring to a clam shell. You can see those are the blue covered lounge chairs in this picture. People definitely could go in front of those.

I don't have many pictures of the food at Moderno, but the food was incredible. The filet melted in your mouth. I really enjoyed the mashed potato side dish that they put on the table. I didn't particularly care for the pineapple dessert. I like cinnamon but I felt it had too much of it. My husband liked it a lot. Melissa hated it. To each their own.

We went to Maltings to listen to Angel (a big surprise, right) and get ready for the glow party. We brought so many bracelet and necklace glow sticks that we were giving them out to people.

Here's Angel and Melissa

Here's the first 3 minutes or so of the GLOW party. The ship was moving pretty fast and it was rocking just a bit, but I think that made the party even more fun.

As I said before, we brought plenty of glow items, but they also gave out lots of them too. And they also were putting face paint on people as well.

We only stayed for around 45 minutes and by then we were exhausted. Sea day tomorrow.

Good! Now I'll mention it to the rest of the bunch.

One way to find your way if you are in the areas of the ship with staterooms is by looking at the carpeting. The little fish are always swimming forward. The hallways are long so its easy to head in the wrong direction. This is the view from outside our stateroom 8130 looking aft. The forward elevator bank is all the way the end of the hallway. Notice the little fishes swimming forward.

Thanks- and I love your idea of bringing glow sticks with you!

I also use a bracelet glow stick each night and hang it on one of the hooks outside of the bathroom door. It gets very dark in the staterooms. And on that note, we also bought battery operated tea lights and we put one on each bedside and one on each end on the desk/table. I got those at Dollar Tree as well.

Today was our first day starting to head back towards NYC. We thought today would be a good day to hang out by the pool and maybe try the ropes course. We also had reservations for Rock of Ages tonight at 6:30.

First we went to the Uptown Grill for breakfast. I'm sure you're surprised. I love the rainbow across Melissa's forehead.

We went down to the pool deck and there was almost no line for the ropes course. I figured, its now or never! My husband wasn't going to try it and Melissa wanted to but she was only wearing a cover up over her bathing suit, so that was a no go for her. In order to do the ropes course you need to wear closed toed shoes and shorts or pants. No skirts or cover ups. Its because of the harness.

Here I am getting my harness on. Melissa took the pictures.

And up I went.

The first step is a doozy. But so much fun!

I made it to the second set of ladders!!

Next obstacle.

All of those years of gymnastics prepared me well for the balance beam in the sky.

Another type of ladder steps

Stagger steps (I'd walk like this later on tonight after too much Patron!)

Seriously. Who thought of these obstacles? Scary fun.

20141010_123154_zpsk5ezq6q0.jpg

This one was easy compared to the rest of them.

20141010_123242_zpsgdtmqd79.jpg

Which way should I go?

20141010_123305_zpspa5qkhza.jpg

Almost done.

20141010_123332_zpswkgc3knf.jpg

I did walk the plank. And I did the zip line. It was absolutely amazing! Too bad Melissa didn't get any good shots of them. I must say that the ropes course was a whole lot more fun than I thought it would be. The adrenaline rush was surreal. My hands were shaking for about 15 minutes after I was done.

After the ropes course we went to the pool. It was pretty crowded, but not horrible. The children's pool was still closed. We still had a blast, because they let children into the adult pool and just called it the main pool.

After a fun day at the pool we went back to the room to shower and change. We were going to go for an early dinner and then drop Melissa off at Kids Club early so we could go to Rock of Ages at 6:30. If you have reservations for an early show and you have children registered with kids club, they will reopen for you at 6:00 instead of 7:00.

This guy was in our room when we got there.

20141010_152258_zps6ns9w5uo.jpg

We didn't have a dinner plan for this night, so we wandered around the ship trying to figure out what to eat. We really wanted to try Wasabi or the Noodle Bar, but they weren't open until 5:30. It was already a little after 5:00 so we wasted some time and had a drink. Patron shots with salt and lime. I would do that too many times today.

Now its 5:30. Let's go to the Noodle Bar.

Oh yum. We ordered the Pork Pot Stickers, Vegetable Spring Rolls, Glass Noodles with Chicken and Vegetables, and Chicken Fried Rice. It was prepared right in front of us and was fantastic.

Combination Fried Rice

The bowls of Noodles and Rice were huge. But we only had about 20 minutes to eat it all. Definitely not enough time for me to eat enough to accommodate all the Patron I would be drinking soon. Oopsie.

Off to the Breakaway theater to see Rock of Ages. We arrived by around 6:15 for the 6:30 show. Our friend arrived at 6:00 and got us our seats, front row center. He had seen the show many times before and loved it. I think it was his 8th or 9th time because this cruise was the second half of a B2B and they had already done 4 weeks this year already.

Servers come around for drink orders, and we were in a good mood so we had more Patron shots. Eek. I liked the show and really enjoyed the music. Well, I was told I liked the show because after the beginning of the show, the rest is a bit blurry. We were rocking out to the music! The next day people that were sitting behind us said that we were more entertaining than the show. Oh boy.

We were really close to the stage.

After the show you were allowed to take pictures with some of the cast. The picture and my memory of even taking it is blurry. LOL.

We picked Melissa up from the kids club and went back to the room by 8:30. I was pretty snockered. We were all a little hungry so we ordered room service. A hero sandwich, chicken fingers, hot dog, and chicken noodle soup. I vaguely remember eating some soup before passing out.

This guy was in our room when we got there.

Day 7, Sea day

This morning we slept in. :o Actually, after a long week of fun we all needed it. My husband was signed up for a Texas Hold 'Em Tournament so he left the room around 10:30 so he could grab a quick bite before it. Melissa and I hung out in the room and on the balcony and ordered room service again. The chicken soup WAS very good. I had remembered correctly from the night before. By the time we were finished eating it was around 12 noon. Melissa wanted to go to the arcade for a little while before going back to kids club at 2. We played a few games and won a bunch of tickets. When we went to cash them in someone had left a big bucket of tickets at the machine! We asked the few people that were there if they left them and nobody claimed them. Finders keepers? Actually another family said "I guess they're yours now. Here, have ours too." That was so nice. Melissa was really happy with her "gold" bangle bracelets.

We wandered around a little bit more and as we were about to get into the elevator to go to kids club, here comes my husband. He was the 4th place finisher in the tournament. They pay the top 3. So close!

We dropped her at the club and were told to go to the theater at 3:15 for the children's farewell performance.

We decided to go grab some lunch. Uh oh. Most of the venues we wanted to try closed by 2pm. We wanted to try Wasabi. Closed. Noodle bar. Closed. Wait, Ocean Blue on the Waterfront was still open because there was still a short line at the window. Score!! We shared the calamari, very good but one bite was very salty. Husband had the crab toasts, not my thing at all. And we both had the lobster rolls. Why did we wait until the last day to try this? They were delicious but a little small. I could easily eat at least 2 of them by myself. It was really lovely out on the waterfront.

Thanks for your thread. We have been on the Breakaway six weeks after her first sailing and loved it. I'm taking my sister on her first cruise and need to plan as she is handicapped - is there a way for you to upload the daily schedule - third page - as a PDF file - the one that has things in the morning, afternoon and then night Thanks carol
