Thanks for posting going nov 30

You're welcome.

Thank you for taking the time to do this!! I just booked our first NCL cruise on the Breakaway for Easter week 2016 and it is this same itinerary!! Your review has been very informative!! Do you remember how far out you were able to book the cabana? Thanks again!

You're welcome. I'm actually thinking about booking for that week too!

I think it was around 6 months in advance. I'll look for my amenity confirmation and let you know.

I just went through all of my papers for this cruise. I booked the cabaña on February 12, 2014 for the October 5-12, 2014 cruise. But I think it was actually available to book around 9 months in advance.

We are given a $50 credit for food and/or beverages that you preorder for delivery on the island. We ordered 4 pounds of shrimp at $20 per pound. As the waiter was delivering it he dropped one platter. There were shrimp and dipping sauces everywhere!

After a long, sun soaked day at Great Stirrup Cay we went back to our room we found this little snack from Prem the Hotel Director.

Tonight, we had reservations at La Cucina. We decided it would be nice to continue our day with the friends we were with at the cabaña and we all went together. It was also the night of the Fireworks which could be seen from La Cucina's Waterfront. :D

Ready for the Fireworks! We hadn't finished eating yet, but the staff told us it was almost time. We should go outside to watch them, they would hold off on bringing out our entrées.

Everyone loved Melissa. :)

I had the Osso Bucco for my entrée. I have to say that this was not my favorite meal on the ship. It was bad, it just wasn't great. After we finished eating, it was time to go back to the room and get some sleep. We were wiped out.

Tomorrow would be another port day, Nassau Bahamas. We've been there before and had decided to just stay on the ship again. We wanted to do the pools, Vibe, kids club, etc.

I just discovered this thread; what a wonderful treat! DH & I will be on the BA in January- our first time on her and our first time on such a large ship. Any hints for finding your way around the ship?

One way to find your way if you are in the areas of the ship with staterooms is by looking at the carpeting. The little fish are always swimming forward. The hallways are long so its easy to head in the wrong direction. This is the view from outside our stateroom 8130 looking aft. The forward elevator bank is all the way the end of the hallway. Notice the little fishes swimming forward.

Day 5, Nassau Bahamas

Today we chose to stay onboard again. We were glad we did because we were able to experience the crew safety drill. I was extremely impressed with how well the crew worked together. They simulated a fire in a machine/engine room on deck 4. They announced that it was just a drill and that they would be using artificial smoke. I didn't see any on deck 8, we were in our room and on our balcony during it. But they did close all the safety doors and had crew members stationed in the hallways. They pretended to evacuate the staterooms. When I opened my door to look out and see what was going on, they stewards had placed tags in the door locks that said "Evacuated".

When our drill was over, I heard the same announcement/drill notification coming from the Carnival Magic which was docked across from us. So, I guess its a routine drill for all cruise ships.

Here you can see the crew during the safety drill.

We spent a nice portion of the day Vibe. Melissa really wanted to be at kids club, so what kind of parents would we be to say no.

If you get a Vibe pass, there's no need to bring a pool towel. They have plenty there. They also spritz you with cool water and serve you fresh fruit skewers. Its heavenly. I just loved being in a hot tub with a frozen drink and fruit skewers. Whenever we were at Vibe, there were never more than 15 people there at a time.

Day 5 Nassau, Bahamas, continued

After a relaxing day at Vibe, we picked up Melissa and went back to our room.

Tonight we were going to Moderno for dinner. Oh my goodness. The salad bar is dynamite! I was told that you could go to Moderno and sit at the bar and just get the salad bar. Next time we just may do that!

We are headed out on the 23rd, and booked a large cabana with another family. How does the priority tender work? How do they know you have a cabana? (and thanks for the posts & pics..!! makes the planning easier.. I need to remember to get some glow stuff :D )

Joann,

Six of us, all family, will be going on our March Breakaway cruise and I'm thinking that we may want to get a cabana.

I've read that some people who booked cabanas had problems with others "parking" right in front of their cabanas and even taking their mats and coming into their cabanas. If I remember correctly, this was on another board.

Did you have any problems with "cabana crashers"?
