gonecruising Posted December 2, 2014 #1 Share Posted December 2, 2014 Curious to know if anyone has experience reaching a new tier level while onboard and was able to get any of the new benefits. Thanks.

Points do not accrue until the cruise has been completed. The only common exception is when you turn Pinnacle.
spookwife Posted December 2, 2014 #3 Share Posted December 2, 2014 Curious to know if anyone has experience reaching a new tier level while onboard and was able to get any of the new benefits. Thanks. points are not awarded until after the cruise ends. usually takes about a week to ten days to be applied. the only time you get immediate recognition is if you gain the new level on the first leg of a back to back. on the second leg you will be recognized right away
krisko Posted December 2, 2014 #4 Share Posted December 2, 2014 You could go to the Next Cruise desk and they 'may' put a sticker of the new tier on your seapass card. You're not entitled to it but they did it for me without inquiring about it.
livinginyellow Posted December 2, 2014 #5 Share Posted December 2, 2014 Curious to know if anyone has experience reaching a new tier level while onboard and was able to get any of the new benefits. Thanks. Just tried doing this on my cruise last week. We were going from Gold to Platinum. A C&A member said that they couldn't do anything beforehand/over the phone, but to check with our C&A desk when we got onboard. They couldn't do anything either. I was hopeful that they could, but it really isn't done. You'll have to wait until your next cruise for the perks.
cruisin4kicks Posted December 2, 2014 #6 Share Posted December 2, 2014 Points do not accrue until the cruise has been completed. The only common exception is when you turn Pinnacle. That was not true for us. We had 696 points when we did the 11/15 Oasis. Even though we turned Pinnacle before the end of the cruise, we did not get any Pinnacle perks. We did get recognized as turning Pinnacle and got a certificate and bottle of Champagne and we had lunch with the captain, but if you did not have a gold seapass card, no Suite Lounge or Coastal Kitchen for you. I have signed in to my Royal Caribbean account since we returned and it does say we are Pinnacle now so we will get all the Pinnacle perks for our next cruise. Tim You're correct, I should have said the Pinnacle recognition occurs during the cruise you turn Pinnacle, but getting the perks is a different story. PCWalton1 Posted December 2, 2014 #8 Share Posted December 2, 2014 We turned Diamond shortly into a 15 day Panama cruise so I asked on board while booking another cruise but got turned down and none too politely either. :(
Starry Eyes Posted December 2, 2014 #9 Share Posted December 2, 2014 Points do not accrue until the cruise has been completed. The only common exception is when you turn Pinnacle. It takes so many points to make Pinnacle, I don't think I could use common and Pinnacle in the same sentence:)
