Reaching New Crown & Anchor Tier while onboard

Recommended Posts

Curious to know if anyone has experience reaching a new tier level while onboard and was able to get any of the new benefits. Thanks.

Points do not accrue until the cruise has been completed.

The only common exception is when you turn Pinnacle.

points are not awarded until after the cruise ends. usually takes about a week to ten days to be applied. the only time you get immediate recognition is if you gain the new level on the first leg of a back to back. on the second leg you will be recognized right away

Just tried doing this on my cruise last week. We were going from Gold to Platinum. A C&A member said that they couldn't do anything beforehand/over the phone, but to check with our C&A desk when we got onboard. They couldn't do anything either. I was hopeful that they could, but it really isn't done. You'll have to wait until your next cruise for the perks.

That was not true for us. We had 696 points when we did the 11/15 Oasis. Even though we turned Pinnacle before the end of the cruise, we did not get any Pinnacle perks.

We did get recognized as turning Pinnacle and got a certificate and bottle of Champagne and we had lunch with the captain, but if you did not have a gold seapass card, no Suite Lounge or Coastal Kitchen for you.

I have signed in to my Royal Caribbean account since we returned and it does say we are Pinnacle now so we will get all the Pinnacle perks for our next cruise.

You're correct, I should have said the Pinnacle recognition occurs during the cruise you turn Pinnacle, but getting the perks is a different story.
