Best excursions St. Kitts, Bernard's St. Maarten?

We will be cruising in January on the Sillouette and are wondering if anyone can recommend a good tour on St. Kitts. It doesn't have to be a ships excursion since many times there are some great private tour companies which are less expensive and better than the ships.

Also we have read reviews of Bernard's tour on St. Maarten and are thinking of booking that one. Has anyone done that one?

Any other tips from people that have taken this cruise would be appreciated! :D

We loved the ship's around the island train trip!!!! It was a converted plantation train and the trip was fascinating!!

Have you looked at the ports of call board?

 

We used Beulah with Welcome Tours a few years ago. She sent us with York for our tour. Loved York!

We loved both of our visits to St Kitts. The first time we visited we toured with Rose from Rose and Jim Taxi. We visisted Romney Manor, Brimstone Fortress and were able to take photos at the overlook of the Caribbean and Atlantic. We ended our day at Cockleshell Beach with great views. Havent done any excursions in st kitts but can recommend bernards in st maarten. A group of us booked with him a couple of years ago and were very well taken care of. I would book with him again

I would also recommend Bernards. We got the Mailman as our guide and he was excellent.

In St. Kitts we have enjoyed two excursions offered by the cruise line:

The catamaran sail to Nevis (been on that one several times) and the Sugar Train Railway. Both are worth the money. ;)

A few years ago we took a Gregs Safari excursion that took us all around the island, it was a great look at the island, what nice people live there! We also got to sample some yummy snacks and rum punch. We will be back around the New Year, may try a beach tour this time.

It usually can only be booked through the ships excursion desk.

When cruise ships are in port, the only way is though the cruise line.

Thank you for your help. £63 seems rather expensive. Might choose a tour of the island instead. First time in the Caribbean so a lot of research to do.

We recently returned from a cruise that had a port day in St. Kitts. I would highly recommend Royston Tours! He did a fabulous job and I think we got to see a few things that some of the other tours did not get to see. We went all the way around the island. We also got to go up a little higher than the other tours at the spot where the Atlantic and the Caribbean seas "meet," or at least it looked like no one else went up the road we were on! No matter what you do, St. Kitts was a beautiful island!:D You can Google Royston Tours St. Kitts for his info. He may be a little slow answering, but keep bugging him!

We are booked with Royston in January. Have been nervous hearing from people who don't get replies from him so glad to hear it went well. It really sounds like an enjoyable day.

You might want to check out Thenford Grey on St. Kitts. He has vey good reviews both on CC and trip advisor. You can't go wrong with Bernard on St. Maarten. We have used him twice and will be using him again in January.
